Stoops on Stoops - 7:29 p.m.
Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops' brother, Mark, was hired Tuesday as the new head coach at the University of Kentucky. Bob was asked about it following OU's practice:

On his brother's hiring at Kentucky:
"I'm excited for Mark, happy for him and proud of him. He's earned it. He's done really well everywhere he's been. I know he's really prepared for the job. I believe that Kentucky, as he does, has a lot of potential, a lot of resources to build, so I know he's excited about the opportunity."

On how the FSU experience has prepared him:
"I think his experience all through, even building Arizona back up, being a part of that along with Florida State and the level of competition at both schools, the way they've played, the competition; he has great experience."

On any advice he'll share:
"Trust your instincts. When you get one of those positions, everybody wants to tell you what to do. That's how it was for me. I didn't let anyone hurry me. I took it at my own pace, trusted my gut and my instincts on what I wanted to do, and fortunately it worked out."

On recruiting in SEC territory:
"He's been recruiting in that area for a long time and he's had success doing it. I'm sure that will help to a degree."

Sooners in the NFL Week 12 - 9:33 a.m.

WR Ryan Broyles recorded six receptions for 126 yards on Thanksgiving Day as Detroit fell, 34-31, to Houston.

TE Jermaine Gresham caught four passes for 41 yards and a touchdown in Cincinnati's 34-10 win over Oakland.

RB Adrian Peterson ran 18 times for a game-high 108 yards and caught six passes for 30 yards, but Minnesota lost to Chicago, 28-10. OT Phil Loadholt started for the 11th time for the Vikings.

QB Sam Bradford completed 8-of-17 passes for 205 yards and two touchdowns, leading St. Louis to a 31-17 win over Arizona.

LB Curtis Lofton led the Saints in tackles with nine, including one for loss, while PK Garrett Hartley booted in three extra points as New Orleans lost to San Francisco, 31-21.

DE Frank Alexander recorded two tackles in Carolina's 30-22 win over Philadelphia on Monday Night Football.

DT Gerald McCoy recovered a fumble in Tampa Bay's 24-23 loss to the Atlanta Falcons.

OG Chris Chester and OT Trent Williams each started their 11th consecutive game for Washington in a 38-31 win over Dallas..

OT Donald Stephenson saw action for the 11th time in as many games in Kansas City's 17-9 loss to Denver.

Bowl Projections for Sooners - 3:35 p.m.
Every week since the beginning of the season, national media outlets have been predicting where teams would play during the bowl season. While it's usually all over the map, it becomes easier to tighten down around this time of the year. All of the below projections have the Sooners heading to the Sugar Bowl to play against Florida. A lot can change in a week, however:

Landry Jones Up For Weekly Honor - 3:20 p.m.
Senior QB Landry Jones is one of eight candidates for this week's Manning Award Player of the Week honors. College football fans can now go to the Allstate Sugar Bowl Facebook page to vote for what they think was the best performance from this past weekend. When voting closes on Thursday at 11 a.m. (Central), the top vote-getter will be announced as the Manning Award Player of the Week.

TCU Game Info - 12:32 p.m.
The Big 12 Conference announced that the football game between the University of Oklahoma and TCU on Saturday, Dec. 1, is slated to kick off at 11 a.m. at Amon C. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth, Texas. The game will be broadcast by ESPN.

The Sooners own a 7-4 all-time advantage vs. the Horned Frogs, including a 4-0 mark in Fort Worth. Oklahoma won the last meeting between the two schools by a 35-10 margin in Norman on Sept. 27, 2008.

QB Sam Bradford completed 23-of-44 passes for 170 yards and two touchdowns, but St. Louis lost, 27-13, to the New York Jets.

Jones is Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week - 9:40 a.m.
The Big 12 Conference announced on Monday that QB Landry Jones has been named the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week after leading Oklahoma to a 50-49 comeback victory at West Virginia.

The senior from Artesia, N.M., threw for a school-record 554 passing yards. He held the previous record of 505 set against Kansas State on Oct. 29, 2011. His six touchdown passes tied a school record he set against Tulsa on Sept. 19, 2009. Jones threw the game-winning touchdown to WR Kenny Stills on fourth down with 0:24 remaining.

Limited Tickets for OSU Game Available - 4:57 p.m.
The University of Oklahoma Athletics Department announced Thursday that it has a limited number of unclaimed student tickets available for its Big 12 Conference game vs. Oklahoma State. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. at Gaylord Family - Oklahoma Memorial Stadium on Nov. 24.

These unclaimed student tickets are located in Section 26 and are priced at $99. Tickets are limited and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets will be available online starting at 5 p.m. Thursday. If any quantities remain, they will be available until gone by visiting the OU Ticket Office during business hours on Friday or by calling (800) 456-4668. Tickets may also be purchased online at SoonerSports.com by going directly to this link:

2012 Academic All-Big 12 Team - 2:02 p.m.
Fourteen Oklahoma Sooners, led by offensive lineman Gabe Ikard, were named to the 2012 Academic All-Big 12 team the conference announced Thursday. OU had 11 first-team selections and three second-team selections and was tied for first among Big 12 Conference members with the 11 first-team honors.

Ikard, who carries a 4.0 grade point average in multidisciplinary studies, was one of just three Big 12 football student-athletes with a 4.0 GPA named to the team. Thursday's honor marks the third consecutive year that Ikard was named to the team with a 4.0.

Other first-team members include Blake Bell (communication), Jaydan Bird (business management), Daniel Franklin (adult and higher education), Michael Hunnicutt (management), Lane Johnson (human relations), David King (human relations), Jamarkus McFarland (human relations), Trey Millard (psychology), Julian Wilson (communication) and Austin Woods (management).

Second-team members included Bronson Irwin (criminology), Gabe Lynn (African-American studies) and Corey Nelson (communication).

2012 Academic All-Big 12 Team Announced

Ikard a Wuerffel Trophy Finalist - 10:52 a.m.
University of Oklahoma center Gabe Ikard has been selected as one of eight finalists for the 2012 Wuerffel Trophy by the All Sports Association, Inc. in Fort Walton Beach, Fla. Ikard was one of only two juniors named a finalist.

The Wuerffel Trophy annually honors the college football player who best combines exemplary community service with outstanding academic and athletic achievement. The national award, which recognizes outstanding ambassadors for college football who embody character and excellence, is named after former Heisman Trophy winner Danny Wuerffel, who led the University of Florida to the 1996 national championship. The winner will be formally announced Dec. 4.

Ikard has started 33 career games for the Sooners, including eight contests at center this season. The Oklahoma City, Okla., native earned All-Big 12 first team honors from AP and coaches for his performance on the field a year ago. He currently carries a 4.0 GPA in multidisciplinary studies and was one of only three sophomores named to the 2011 CoSIDA Academic All-American team. In May 2012 he was part of the Sooners for Haiti trip, spending a week working with the children served by the orphanages of the Mission of Hope in Titanyen, Haiti.

Sooners in the NFL Week 10 - 9:04 a.m.
Week 10 in the NFL saw Adrian Peterson continue to tear up the league, once again posting the highest rushing total on Sunday. Catch the latest from him and other Sooners:

RB Adrian Peterson ran 27 times for 171 yards and a touchdown to lead the Vikings over Detroit, 34-24. He currently leads the NFL with 1,128 rushing yards. OT Phil Loadholt started for the 10th time for the Vikings to help lead the way for Peterson. Loadholt registered a tackle for the second straight week. WR Ryan Broyles had a six-yard reception and his first-career tackle in the loss.

TE Jermaine Gresham hauled in a three passes for 15 yards, and a touchdown in Cincinnati's 31-13 win over the New York Giants.

QB Sam Bradford completed 26-of-39 passes for 275 yards and two touchdowns as the Rams battled San Francisco to overtime and finished the game in a tie, 24-24.

LB Curtis Lofton recorded five tackles and a pass defended, while PK Garrett Hartley booted in a 31-yard field goal and four extra points in New Orleans' 31-27 win over Atlanta.

DT Gerald McCoy recorded a tackle in Tampa Bay's 34-24 win over the San Diego Chargers.

OT Donald Stephenson started for the second consecutive week for Kansas City, but the Chiefs lost, 16-13, to Pittsburgh on Monday Night Football.

Monday, November 12

The Big 12 Conference announced on Monday that the football game between the University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University on Nov. 24 is slated to kick off at 2:30 p.m. at Gaylord Family - Oklahoma Memorial Stadium. The game will be broadcast on ESPN.

The Sooners own an 82-17-7 all-time advantage vs. the Cowboys. Oklahoma is 10-3 against Oklahoma State under head coach Bob Stoops, including a 5-1 mark at home.

Jackson Earns NCAA Silver Anniversary Award - 9:35 p.m.
Two-time Oklahoma football All-America honoree Keith Jackson has been selected as one of six former student-athletes to receive the 2013 NCAA Silver Anniversary Award. The Silver Anniversary Award annually recognizes distinguished individuals on the 25th anniversary of the conclusion of their collegiate athletics careers.

In addition to Jackson, other honorees will include Bob Cottingham, Dylann Duncan Ceriani, Yolanda 'Gail' Devers, Chad Hennings and Patrick McEnroe. The NCAA will recognize these six individuals Jan. 18 at the Honors Celebration during the 2013 NCAA Convention in Grapevine, Texas.

Sooners in the NFL Week Nine - 9:23 a.m.
Week Nine in the NFL saw plenty of Sooners in action and representing OU. Catch the latest, including highlights of Adrian Peterson's performance against Seattle:

RB Adrian Peterson carried 17 times for 182 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while catching three passes for 11 yards in Minnesota's 30-20 loss to Seattle. Peterson currently leads the NFL with 957 rushing yards. OT Phil Loadholt started for the ninth time for the Vikings to help lead the way for Peterson. Loadholt registered a tackle for the second straight week.

WR Ryan Broyles had a career-high six receptions for 52 yards in Detroit's 31-14 win over Jacksonville.

TE Jermaine Gresham hauled in a team-high six passes for 108 yards, including a long of 52, in Cincinnati's 31-23 loss to Denver.

LB Curtis Lofton recorded eight tackles, while PK Garrett Hartley booted in four extra points in New Orleans' 28-13 win over Philadelphia on Monday Night Football.

Monday, November 5

It's Monday morning as the Sooners are preparing for battle number nine on Saturday, a home contest against Baylor. Head coach Bob Stoops will meet with the media at noon with Landry Jones to follow. Select players will speak before then. Watch it live at SoonerSports.tv.

Hunnicutt a Lou Groza Semifinalist - 2:08 p.m.
Sophomore kicker Michael Hunnicutt was named to the 2012 Lou Groza Award Semifinalist List Monday. The Lou Groza Award is presented annually by the Palm Beach County Sports Commission to the NCAA's most outstanding placekicker among FBS teams.

A panel of more than 300 experts will narrow the field to three finalists on Nov. 19. The winner will be announced on Dec. 6 from the Home Depot ESPNU College Football Awards Show in Orlando, Fla. Hunnicutt currently leads the Big 12 with a 90.9 field goal percentage (10 of 11) with a 42-yard long at Texas Tech on Oct. 6. He has connected on 38 of 40 PATs to give him 68 points on the season.

West Virginia Kickoff Info - 9:12 a.m.
The Big 12 Conference announced on Monday that the football game between the University of Oklahoma and West Virginia University on Nov. 17 is slated to air at 6 p.m. CT/7 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast nationally on FOX with Gus Johnson handling the play-by-play duties with analysis from Charles Davis, while Julie Alexandria reports from the sidelines.

The Sooners are 2-2 all-time vs. the Mountaineers. The initial Big 12 meeting between the two squads will also mark OU's first-ever contest at West Virginia. The two clubs most recently met in the 2008 Fiesta Bowl with the Mountaineers claiming a 48-28 victory. OU hasn't faced West Virginia in a regular season contest since the two teams squared off in Norman in 1982.

The Big 12 Conference announced on Sunday that the football game between the University of Oklahoma and Baylor University on Nov. 10 is slated to kick off at 2:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast by FSN. The Sooners are 10-0 all-time vs. the Bears in Norman.

Coach Bob Stoops indicated that both OL Lane Johnson and RB Damien Williams practiced on Thursday. It is anticipated that Johnson will play, while Williams is still being evaluated.
