The University of Oklahoma Women's Cross Country team took to the course with three senior runners Saturday morning at the Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival in Fayetteville, Ark.
Jess Engel led the way for the Sooners with a first-place, 20:42.21 run in Fayetteville, Ark. It is the second individual win of the season for Engel who previously took home the top finish at the 2012 Hurricane invitational earlier this season. In addition to the win, her senior performance tops her eighth-place finish last year at the same meet.
Engel was the lone Sooner woman to finish in the top-50 for the Crimson and Cream in a field that featured 340 runners.
Molly Ferguson followed with a 58th-place finish after she completed the 6,000-meter course in 22:32.6.
Robin Ray followed suit with a 23:20.9 effort to be the 120th runner to cross the line, and third fastest OU competitor.
Both the men's and women's Sooner squads will now take two weeks off before heading to Austin, Texas, for the Big 12 Championships.
