Sooner Men Head to Pennsylvania

NORMAN, Okla. - The No. 4 nationally ranked Oklahoma men's cross country team competes at the Lehigh Brooks Paul Short Run in Bethlehem, Pa., on the campus of Lehigh University, this Friday, Sept. 30.  Oklahoma races on the eight-kilometer course at 10 a.m. CT.

The Sooners participate in the gold race, which includes 45 teams, seven of which are ranked in the top 25.  Oklahoma is the highest ranked team at the competition.

Among the competitors include No. 12 Princeton, No. 15 Syracuse, No. 17 Providence, No. 18 Villanova, No. 19 Virginia and No. 22 Georgetown.

Racing for the Sooners are Kevin Schwab, Aaron Sherf, Jeremy Sudbury, Taylor Wardall, Kevin Williams, George Alex, Eric Harasyn, Bill Kogel, Frezer Legesse, Danny Nicolls and Ryan Poland.  This is the first meet of the season for all but Legesse, Nicolls, Poland and Wardall, who competed at the Hurricane Invitational.

Schwab, Alex, Williams and Kogel return from last season where they finished in the top 15 at the NCAA Midwest Regional, earning All-Midwest Region honors and leading the Sooners to their first NCAA Regional title in program history.
