NORMAN, Okla. – The University of Oklahoma men's cross country team remains at No. 4 in the latest national rankings provided Tuesday by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Association (USTFCCCA).  This is the second straight week the men's program remains at its highest ranking ever.

For the first time of the season both the men's and women's teams are ranked in the regional polls.  The men remain at No. 2 in the Midwest regional poll, while the women catapulted to No. 9.  The ranking marks the women's first appearance in the rankings since Nov. 1 of last year and is their highest ranking in two years.

The men's three-week layoff comes to an end as compete in two meets this weekend.  The first is on Friday, Sept. 30 in Bethlehem, Pa., at the Lehigh Brooks Paul Short Run.  Others run in the OSU Cowboy Jamboree in Stillwater, on Saturday.

The Oklahoma women last ran on Saturday, Sept. 24, where they placed 19th at the Roy Griak Invitational in Minneapolis, Minn.  Their next competition is on Oct. 8 in Shawnee, Okla., at the OBU Bison Invitational.
