Next Up
Following the game in Baton Rouge, OU will conclude the week with a showdown with New Mexico in Albuquerque at 6 p.m. CT. OU leads the all-time series, 2-1, after winning the last meeting in 2003, a 2-1 Sooner victory in Norman.
Scoring First
The Sooners have found success early in the season when posting the game's first goal. All five of OU's wins have come when posting the first goal of the game. It was also a key stat in 2010, when OU was 11-2-2 when scoring first.
Spreading the Wealth
The Sooners scored one goal during the three-game losing streak but tallied seven in the two wins on Sept. 2 and Sept. 4 with five different goal scorers. The Sooners have 18 goals in their five wins and one goal in the four losses. Overall, OU has 19 goals scored in 2011 with nine different Sooners finding the back of the net. Amy Petrikin and Michelle Alexander lead the team with four goals.
