NORMAN, Okla. - Seniors Chris Ellison selected as the final Sooners on day three of the 2011 Major League Baseball Draft in the 41st and 46th rounds, respectively. Shore and Blair join Tyson Seng in the 33rd round (NY Mets) and Chris Ellison (Arizona Diamondbacks) in the 39th round as the four Sooners selected on Wednesday, the third and final day of the draft.
The recent selections mark the 10th and 11th Sooners to be taken in 2011 as that group joins the 10 signees that have also been taken in the last three days. Click here to read more about the seven Sooners taken on day two of the draft.
The 11 drafted players led the Big 12 and marks the most taken in program history, topping the 10 selected in 1998 and 1995. The 11 selections ranked in a tie for second place in the nation behind Vanderbilt (12). Arizona State, Florida and South Carolina also had 11 while Texas was eight with nine selections.
The most players drafted in the Sunny Golloway era
was nine, accomplished twice in 2009 and 2006. Overall, 43 Sooners have been drafted on Golloway's watch, including at least four in every season but one. In addition, 22 of the players came to Norman undrafted in their careers.
Of the 11 Sooners taken in 2011, eight were selected for the first time and two others improved their draft status by at least four rounds.

Wednesday marked the second career selection for Shore, who was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles
in 2009. It marked the first career selection for Blair, who was one of four team captains this season. The duo helped the Sooners post a 41-19 overall record, a third-place finish in the Big 12 regular season standings and the program's 34th appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
Shore was 3-2 in 2011 in 15 appearances, including nine starts. In 2010, he played a key role in helping Oklahoma return to the College World Series for the 10th time in program history and first since 1995. Shore, a native of Oceanside, Calif., was 10-5 in 17 starts during his first season in Norman and recorded the win in the Sooners' final game in the Norman Regional Championship and Super Regional final at No. 1 Virginia.
Blair, a two-time CoSIDA Academic All-District honoree (third in program history), played in 111 games during his four years in Norman, including 33 this season. Blair, a native of Argyle, Texas, hit .333 in 2011 with nine runs driven in and finished his OU career as a .359 hitter.

Ellison Goes to the Mets in 33rd Round
Junior outfielder Chris Ellison was the second Sooner taken on day three of the 2011 Major League Baseball Draft, joining Tyson Seng in the 33rd round (NY Mets). The Norman, Okla., native was selected on Wednesday in the 39th round (1174th overall) by the Arizona Diamondbacks.
It marks the first career selection for Ellison, who has played in 165 games in his three years in Norman, including 125 starts. In 2011, Ellison hit .315 in 33 starts in the outfield as the Sooners posted a 41-19 overall record, a third-place finish in the Big 12 regular season standings and made the program's 34th appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
Ellison is a career .321 hitter with nine homers, 71 RBI and 44 stolen bases. In 2010, he hit a career-best .326 with 26 stolen bases in 56 starts as he helped the Sooners make the program's 10th College World Series appearance, and first since 1995.

Seng First Sooner Taken on Day Three
Senior reliever Tyson Seng was the first Sooner taken on day three of the 2011 Major League Baseball Draft. The Enid, Okla., native was drafted on Wednesday in the 33rd round (1002nd overall) by the New York Mets.
It marks the first career selection for Seng, who lettered three years at Oklahoma (2008, 2009 and 2010), primarily as a relief pitcher.
In 2011, Seng was tied for the team lead with 23 appearances with Dillon Overton, who was just named a Freshman All-American on Wednesday. Overall, Seng tossed 18 scoreless outings in 2011, including his first career save on Feb. 25 against Oakland.
Seng made 47 career appearances
as a Sooner and also played 75 games as an infielder, including 49 starts as a freshman in 2008. He finished his career with a 4-1 record on the mound with a 3.86 ERA in 77 innings pitched. He also hit .280 with three homers and 23 RBIs in 2008 and 2009.
