DALLAS, Texas -- The Sooner soccer team wrapped up the six-game spring schedule on Thursday night with a hard-fought 2-1 loss at SMU.
The game in Dallas marked the end of the spring for the Sooners, which finished the slate at 2-3-1.
Oklahoma got on the board early on Thursday with a goal off the head of Kelsey Kraft after Bailey Boulware provided the assist.
"I thought we played the best first half of the entire spring," said OU Head Coach Nicole Nelson.
Despit outshooting the Mustangs 7-5 on goal and holding a 1-0 halftime lead, the home team rallied with a pair of second half goals. With 12 minutes left in the contest, SMU scored the equalizer and then tallied the game winner with two minutes left on the board.
"We put together some of the best soccer we have played all spring," added Nelson. "But our mistakes late in the game cost us. Overall, the group has developed a significant amount this spring. I feel like we are finishing this spring in a better place then we have in past years, which is promising.
