THURSDAY'S GAME BASICS
The Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship's No. 10 seed, Oklahoma (14-17 overall, 5-11 Big 12) plays No. 2 seed Texas (25-6, 13-3) in quarterfinals action Thursday at 6 p.m. CT inside Kansas City's Sprint Center.  The Sooners have won two straight and are coming off an 84-67 first-round win over No. 7 seed Baylor.  Texas received a first-round bye after finishing in second place in the regular season Big 12 race (one game behind Kansas).  Thursday's game will air on the Sooner Radio Network (KOKC 1520 AM in Oklahoma City; KTBZ 1430 AM in Tulsa) with Bob Barry and Mike Houck calling the action.  It will be televised by the Big 12 Network (KOCB Ch. 34 in Oklahoma City; KJRH-DT2 in Tulsa; ESPN Full Court) with Dave Armstrong, Reid Gettys and Holly Rowe announcing.

OKLAHOMA AND THE BIG 12 CHAMPIONSHIP
• Oklahoma sports a 20-11 (.645) Big 12 Championship record, the league's second best mark (Kansas is 28-7).
• OU has won three Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship titles (2001, 2002, 2003).  Its first two titles came in Kansas City (Kemper Arena).
• This marks just the fifth time in 15 Big 12 Championships that Oklahoma has not earned a first-round bye.  OU has won at least one game in 11 of the tournament's 15 years.
• The Sooners have played in five of the 14 Big 12 title games.
• Only Kansas (28 wins and seven titles) has more total tournament wins and championships than OU (20 victories and three crowns).

WEDNESDAY'S BAYLOR RECAP
• Oklahoma shot .575 from the field, .500 (9-for-18) from 3-point range and .879 (29-for-33) from the free throw line in an 84-67 first-round win over Baylor.  OU's field goal effort was its fourth best of the year while its 3-point and free throw efforts were its third and second best of the season, respectively.
• The Sooners' 84 points marked a season high.  The 17-point victory margin represented their largest against a Big 12 opponent in two seasons. 
• Down 13-9 with 12 minutes left in the first half, OU went on a 28-5 run over the next 8:30 to lead 37-18.  The Sooners led 39-22 at halftime and were up by as many as 25 in the second half (79-54 with 3:52 remaining).
• Senior guard Cade Davis scored a game-high 24 points on 8-for-13 field goal, 4-for-8 3-point and 4-for-4 free throw shooting.  The performance left him two points shy of 1,000 for his career.  Davis added four rebounds in his 40 minutes.
• Sophomore point guard Carl Blair turned in perhaps his most complete game as a Sooner, registering 14 points, an OU-season-high 11 assists and six rebounds while committing just two turnovers in 36 minutes.  Blair was 3-for-5 from the field and 8-for-9 from the foul line.  In three games against Baylor this year, he averaged 14.3 points, 4.0 rebounds and 8.0 assists while shooting .542 from the floor.
• Guards Cameron Clark and Steven Pledger each contributed 10 points.  Clark added a team-high seven rebounds while Pledger was one of the main defenders responsible for helping hold LaceDarius Dunn — the Big 12's all-time leading scorer — to just 11 points on 3-for-14 shooting.
• OU outrebounded Baylor 30-29.   It marked just the third time in 17 games against Big 12 competition this year the Sooners won the rebounding battle (second time vs. Baylor). 
• Oklahoma got 21 points from its bench, including eight from freshman forward Tyler Neal.  The 21 points tied as OU's most against a Big 12 team this year.

NOTEWORTHY
• Oklahoma holds a 47-31 series lead against Texas but lost both regular season meetings this year (66-46 in Austin on Jan. 15 and 68-52 in Norman on Feb. 9).  The Sooners are 4-2 against the Longhorns in the Big 12 Championship, including a 54-45 title game victory in 2001 in Kansas City (Kemper Arena).
• The Sooners are 4-2 at Kansas City's Sprint Center.  They went 1-1 in the 2008 Big 12 Championship and 0-1 in last year's event, and beat Morgan State and Michigan in the 2009 NCAA Tournament first and second rounds.
• Oklahoma ranks second in the number of Big 12 Championship victories (20) and titles (three).  Only Kansas has more of each (28 and seven).
• With just two players on the active roster taller than 6-7, guards have accounted for 67 percent of the team's points this year.
• Senior Cade Davis and sophomore Andrew Fitzgerald were honorable mention All-Big 12 picks.  Davis ranks first on the team in scoring (14.1) and second in rebounding (5.0), while Fitzgerald ranks first in rebounding (5.1) and second in scoring (12.6).
• In their six wins against Big 12 competition, the Sooners are averaging 28.0 free throw attempts.  In their 11 losses, they're averaging just 15.6 attempts.
• Freshmen and sophomores have accounted for 71 percent of OU's points this year.  The Sooners have one senior in Davis. 
• After a five-game stretch in which he scored in double figures once, Davis has scored at least 13 points in each of the last seven outings and is averaging 20.1 points and 5.4 rebounds during the stretch.  He has led the Sooners in scoring in each of the last six outings (performances of 21, 21, 19, 21, 22 and 24 points) and has accounted for 33 percent of the team's points in those contests.  Thirty-six percent of his free throw attempts on the season have come over the last six games (40 of 112).
• In OU's regular season conference wins, sophomore guard Steven Pledger and freshman guard Cameron Clark paced the team by averaging 16.8 and 15.0 points, respectively (combined to shoot 50.0 percent from the field).  In the team's conference losses, Clark averaged 7.5 points and Pledger 7.4 (combined to shoot 35.6 percent). 
• Five Sooners are averaging double figures in scoring in Oklahoma's six victories against Big 12 competition (16.3 by Davis, 15.7 by Pledger, 14.2 by Clark, 12.5 by sophomore point guard Carl Blair and 10.0 by Fitzgerald).  Only Davis (14.2) and Fitzgerald (12.9) are averaging more than 10 points in OU's Big 12 defeats.

JAN. 15 AGAINST TEXAS
• OU shot .392 from the field and .067 (1-for-15) from 3-point range in a 66-46 loss at No. 12 Texas on Jan. 15.
• The Sooners trailed by just six points one minute into the second half (27-21) but committed 11 of their 15 turnovers after halftime.  Texas outscored OU 13-4 in the points-off-turnovers category on the day.
• The Longhorns entered the game outrebounding their opponents by an average of 7.6 boards per game, but they grabbed just one more than the Sooners (33-32).
• Oklahoma was whistled for 21 fouls to Texas' 11.  The Longhorns were 11-for-21 at the line while OU was 5-for-9.
• Sophomore forward Andrew Fitzgerald scored 14 of his team-high 18 points in the second half.  He was 8-for-14 from the field and added five rebounds before fouling out.  Freshman guard/forward Cameron Clark contributed nine points and five boards.
• Freshman forward Tyler Neal came off the bench to record eight points (third most of season) and five boards (second most) in 11 minutes.
• Senior guard Cade Davis (13.1 ppg) and sophomore guard Steven Pledger (11.8) entered the day with a combined 24.9 scoring average, but totaled just three points against the Longhorns (all by Davis).  Pledger was 0-for-8 from the field while Davis was 1-for-4.

FEB. 9 AGAINST TEXAS
• OU shot a season-low 32.1 percent from the field in a 68-52 home loss to No. 3 Texas.  It was the Sooners' worst defeat in six games despite committing a season-low-tying eight turnovers.  It was OU's lowest total in 17 games.
• Starters scored all 68 points for Texas and each finished in double figures.  The quintet combined to shoot 62.5 percent from the field.
• Sophomore forward Andrew Fitzgerald  led OU with 16 points and added five rebounds in 38 minutes.  Fellow sophomore Steven Pledger was the only other Sooner in double figures with his 13 points.  The guard was 3-for-4 from 3-point range.
• Freshman forward Tyler Neal came off the bench to register six points and a career-high seven boards in 20 minutes.
• Texas posted a 38-27 rebounding advantage and outscored the Sooners 28-14 in the paint.

BARRY CALLING IT A CAREER
This season is the final one on the microphone for longtime OU radio play-by-play announcer Bob Barry.  In his 50th year of announcing, the 80-year-old Barry began his career at OU in 1961.  He called Oklahoma State games from 1973 to 1990 before returning to the OU mic in 1991.  Barry was recognized at halftime of the Sooners' home game against Oklahoma State on Saturday.
