NORMAN, Okla. -- Six Sooners were named to the All-Big 12 First Team the league announced Wednesday: Frank Alexander, Ryan Broyles, Jamell Fleming, Gabe Ikard, Ronnell Lewis and Trey Millard.

James Hanna, Demontre Hurst, Travis Lewis and Kenny Stills were named to the second team in addition to nine Sooners named Honorable Mention.

Senior defensive end Frank Alexander (Baton Rouge, La.) was named Co-Defensive Player of the Year, an honor shared with Iowa State linebacker A.J. Klein. Alexander was also named Defensive Lineman of the Year. He was the second straight Oklahoma player to capture the honor (Jeremy Beal, 2010).

The University of Oklahoma has placed at least one player on the All-Conference first team every season since 1926 (86 years). In fact, OU has only had one season when playing in a conference without first-team honors (1925). That's 96 of 97 seasons.
