The Sooners (7-3) jumped to a 23-3 lead with efficient shooting and out-hustled the Musketeers, who committed 10 turnovers in the first five minutes of the game.
Las Vegas native Aaryn Ellenberg counted three of a career-high five steals in four straight Xavier possessions during OU's early run as the Sooners scored 12 of its first 23 points off turnovers. Ellenberg scored 10 points, but ended a program-record streak of 29 games with a 3-pointer, missing her only attempt as the sophomore and her teammates simply out-ran their opponents in transition.
Whitney Hand scored 19 points as the Sooners' captain shook off an eight-game slump in which she made just 15 percent (5-of-33) of her 3-point attempts.
Oklahoma, playing four reserves in its lineup for the final four minutes of the first period, led 45-24 at halftime.
Following its first three-game losing streak since March 2008, the Sooners have won four straight from start to finish.
Morgan Hook finished with 11 points and was named the Duel in the Desert MVP. Hook averaged 15.3 points in the three-game tournament, connecting on 73 percent of her field goal attempts.
