Boulavsky Earns CoSIDA Academic Honor

NORMAN, Okla. – For a third straight year, University of Oklahoma right side hitter Suzy Boulavsky (Houston, Texas) has been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-District team, the organization announced today. Boulavsky is the first three-time academic all-district honoree in the program's history.
 
Boulavsky boasts a 3.97 grade point average in public relations. Boulavsky joined UTEP senior Stephanie Figueroa, UTSA seniors Kelsey Jewasko and Kelsey Schwirtlich, New Mexico senior Kelly Williamson and Stephen F. Austin junior Madison Hanlan on the first team.

Boulavsky currently leads OU with 3.30 kills per set, a mark that ranks ninth in the Big 12. Her team-best 3.73 points per set are 10th best in the league. Boulavsky earned Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week honors on Oct. 3.

Boulavsky was named to the Academic All-America third team last year and is a two-time academic All-Big 12 selection. She has earned All-Central Region honorable mention honors from the American Volleyball Coaches Association the past two years and was a first team All-Big 12 selection as a junior.

Previous Sooners to earn the academic all-district honors are Caitlin Higgins (2010), Lacy Barnes (2006, 2007), Francie Ekwerekwu (2008), Hannah Sharp (2007, 2006), Bridget Laplante (2007) and Rachel Jackson (2006).
