Sooners Earn Highest Ranking in Program History

NORMAN, Okla. – The University of Oklahoma men's cross country team moved up a spot to No. 3 in the latest national rankings provided Tuesday by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Association (USTFCCCA) to claim its highest ranking ever in the programs history.
The move up after the Sooners won the Lehigh Brooks Paul Short Run on Oct.1, which featured six other nationally ranked teams. The men remain at No. 2 in the Midwest Regional poll, while the women dropped three spots to No. 12.
The Oklahoma women return to action this Saturday, Oct. 8 in Shawnee, Okla. at the OBU Bison Invitational. The women last ran on Sept.24 at the Roy Griak Invitational in Minneapolis, Minn., where they placed 19th.
The Sooner men will have a weekend off, before traveling to Fayetteville, Ark. on Oct.15 for the Chile Pepper Invitational.
