NORMAN, Okla. -- The Big 12 Conference released its 96-game 2011 men's basketball schedule today.  Oklahoma will begin its league slate Jan. 8 at home against Texas A&M and finish March 5 at home versus Oklahoma State.

Twelve of OU's 16 games will air on national or regional television networks.  Sooner Sports Network TV information and a complete list of tip times will be released at a later date.

OU will play its eight league home games against Texas A&M (Big 12 Network), Texas Tech (Jan. 18, Big 12 Network), Colorado (Jan. 22, Big 12 Network), Baylor (Feb. 1, ESPN2), Texas (Feb. 9, ESPN2), Nebraska (Feb. 16, ESPNU), Kansas (Feb. 26, ESPN or ESPN2) and Oklahoma State (Big 12 Network).

The Sooners' eight road games will be played at Baylor (Jan. 12), Texas (Jan. 15, Big 12 Network), Iowa State (Jan. 29), Oklahoma State (Feb. 5, Big 12 Network), Missouri (Feb. 12, Big 12 Network), Kansas State (Feb. 19, Big 12 Network), Texas A&M (Feb. 23) and Texas Tech (March 2).

The Big 12 was rated as the No. 1 conference in the nation in the RPI last season and placed a league-record seven teams in the NCAA field a year ago.  Six different teams have advanced to the regional finals over the past three seasons (including Oklahoma in 2009), the first time since the NCAA field expanded in 1985 that any conference has accomplished the feat during a three-year span.

The Big 12 Conference has had the nation's best winning percentage in NCAA competition over the last three years and during the past eight campaigns (since 2003), with 19 NCAA bids earned over the last three seasons.
