PHOENIX, Ariz. -- The Sooner soccer suffered its first loss of the exhibition schedule in the spring in a 2-1 decision at the hands of Arizona State on Saturday.
Oklahoma played its first game since March 27 and fell to 2-1-2 as one game remains on the schedule. OU concludes the spring slate on April 24 (7 p.m.) against SMU in Norman at the OU Soccer Complex.
Maryland transfer Caitlin Mooney gave OU a 1-0 lead in the first half as Lauren Alkek recorded the assist.
The OU offense has posted eight goals in five games and used just 11 players on Saturday.
The Sun Devils tied the game at one with less than a minute remaining in the first half off a corner kick.
"We continue to see significant development from this group,” said OU Head Coach Nicole Nelson.”Considering we have used a limited amount of players, there are a lot of individuals that didn't see much time in the fall, that are receiving significant game experience.”
