Men Finish 12th at NCAA Championships

Sorrell Named to National All-Academic Team

NORMAN, Okla. — University of Oklahoma junior Rob Sorrell was named to the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association's (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team the association announced this week. The junior from Memphis, Tenn., majors in aviation and helped lead the OU men's cross country team to its highest finish at the NCAA Cross Country Championships this past fall while carrying a perfect 4.0 grade point average the past two semesters.

The award honors those student-athletes who have succeeded both academically and athletically. To be eligible for the award a student-athlete must carry a minimum 3.25 cumulative grade point average and must finish among the top 15 finishers (or top 10 percent) of the field at their respective NCAA regional meet.

Sorrell finished fourth at the NCAA Midwest Region to be named to All-Region and was also a member of the Academic All-Big 12 Cross Country Team.
