NORMAN, Okla. – 17th-ranked Oklahoma will take on San Diego State in its first round draw at the 2010 Blue Gray National Tennis Classic in Montgomery, Ala., held March 18-21 at the Lagoon Park Tennis Center.

This is the Sooners (9-1) and Aztecs (2-8) second meeting of the year, with the first outing going in favor of Oklahoma, 6-1.

OU secured the tournament's No. 2 seed after jumping three spots to No. 17 in the latest ITA ranking, released Tuesday. In the singles rankings, senior Andrei Daescu fell to No. 20, freshman Costin Paval dropped to No. 70 and junior Ionut Beleleu checked in at No. 83.

For the first time this season the Sooners have a ranked doubles team. Daescu and Beleleu comprised to make up the No. 71 duo in the nation.

San Diego State is led by Juan Gomez (No. 98). Gomez secured the Aztecs only point in their first meeting against the Sooners after defeating junior David Pultr at the No. 4 position.

The rest of the Blue Gray bracket includes a plethora of ranked opponents including: No. 16 Texas Tech, No. 26 Fresno State, No. 33 Arizona, No. 38 Notre Dame, No. 39 Tulsa, No. 44 Penn State, No. 54 OSU, No. 63 Harvard, No. 69 William & Mary and No. 71 Boise State.

Friday, OU will play either No. 73 VCU or No. 66 South Florida.
