GAME PREVIEW
Oklahoma (13-13 overall, 4-8 Big 12) will go for its first conference road win of the year when it plays at Kansas (26-1, 12-0) Monday at 8 p.m. CST.  The Sooners, who are 1-7 in true road contests this season (0-6 in Big 12 play), will also be trying to snap a four-game losing streak.  The Jayhawks, ranked No. 1 in both major top-25 polls, have won 12 straight games and are 17-0 at home.  Monday's game will air on the Sooner Radio Network with Bob Barry Sr. and Mike Houck calling the action.  It will be televised by ESPN with Brent Musburger, Bob Knight and Holly Rowe announcing.

PREVIEWING KANSAS
Kansas (26-1 overall, 12-0 Big 12) is ranked No. 1 in both major polls and holds a three-game lead in the conference race.  The Jayhawks, who are 17-0 at home on the year, have won 12 straight games after a 76-68 loss at Tennessee on Jan. 10.  They own the nation's longest home court winning streak (57 games) and are off to their best start since the 1996-97 season.  In Big 12 play, KU leads the league in scoring offense (79.7), scoring defense (66.7), rebounding margin (+7.0), field goal percentage defense (.386) and assist-to-turnover ratio (1.2).

Senior point guard Sherron Collins leads four Jayhawks who average double figures in points.  Collins averages 15.0 points and a team-high 4.3 assists per game.  He also leads the squad with his 53 3-pointers on the year (shooting .368) and his .854 free throw percentage.  Freshman guard Xavier Henry averages 13.6 points and 4.2 rebounds per contest and has made 52 treys on the season (shooting .400).  Sophomore forward Marcus Morris is shooting a team-high .568 from the field and contributes 12.8 points and 6.3 rebounds an outing.  In league play, Morris scores a team-high 15.7 points a game.  Junior center Cole Aldrich is averaging 11.6 points and team highs of 10.1 rebounds (ranks third in Big 12) and 3.8 blocked shots (ranks second) per outing.

OU-KANSAS SERIES HISTORY
Kansas is the only Big 12 program with an all-time winning record against Oklahoma.  The Jayhawks lead the series 134-64 and own a 68-16 advantage in Lawrence.  Since the Big 12 was formed, OU is 4-13 against KU and 0-6 at Allen Fieldhouse .  The Sooners' last win in Lawrence came in 1993 (80-77).  They have lost nine straight there since.  Jeff Capel is 0-4 against Kansas as OU's head coach.

LAST YEAR AGAINST THE JAYHAWKS
• Despite leading 22-8 midway through the first half, Oklahoma saw its 19-game home court winning streak halted by Kansas last Feb. 23, 87-78.  Playing without would-be national player of the year Blake Griffin (concussion), OU was outscored 79-56 the rest of the way.
• The Sooners rallied from a 58-38 deficit with 10:40 left in the second half to draw within three points twice in the last four minutes.
• OU made six treys during a 33-16 run that made the score 74-71 (three by Cade Davis, two by Omar Leary, one by Willie Warren).
• Warren scored a team-high 23 points on 8-for-16 field goal, 3-for-6 3-point and 4-for-4 free throw shooting while adding three assists.
• Davis was 4-for-6 from 3-point range off the bench to finish with 12 points (tied for his second highest output of the year).
• Ryan Wright started in place of Griffin and played a season-high 26 minutes.  He was 0-for-1 from the field and 0-for-5 from the foul line, but had a team-high seven rebounds.

SATURDAY'S KANSAS STATE RECAP
• Trailing 50-49 with 14:30 left in the game, Oklahoma watched No. 7 Kansas State go on a 21-6 run over the next 6:20 to take a 71-55 lead in an eventual 83-68 outcome in Norman.  It was OU's second straight home loss after winning 31 of 32 at Lloyd Noble Center.
• Ahead by just two at halftime (35-33), the Wildcats outscored OU 48-35 after intermission.  They shot .581 from the field and .545 (6-for-11) from behind the arc in the second half.
• Oklahoma only had three more turnovers than Kansas State (13-10), but the Wildcats had 23 points off turnovers to OU's 12.
• The Sooners played without leading scorer Willie Warren (ankle injury).
• Freshmen accounted for 43 of OU's 68 points on the night (63 percent).  Tommy Mason-Griffin led the team with 16 points and five assists, while Andrew Fitzgerald tied career highs with 14 points and five rebounds.  Tiny Gallon contributed 10 points, eight boards and a career-high four steals, while Steven Pledger added three points.  Senior Tony Crocker finished with 11 points, nine boards and five assists.
• Denis Clemente netted 27 points for Kansas State (was 5-for-9 from 3-point distance) and added six assists.

MASON-GRIFFIN ON A ROLL
• Freshman point guard Tommy Mason-Griffin has led OU in scoring in seven of the last nine games after not pacing the team in any of its first 17 games (averaged 10.2 points in those 17).  Over the last nine outings, he is averaging 21.3 points and 4.1 assists while shooting .471 (33-for-70) from 3-point range and .846 (33-for-39) from the free throw line in an average of 38.8 minutes.
• The 5-11, 203-pounder ranks third in the Big 12 (all games) in 3-point percentage (.448), fourth in assists (4.5 apg) and fourth in 3-pointers per game (2.5).  In Big 12 play, he ranks second in treys per contest (3.4) and third in 3-point percentage (.471).
• Mason-Griffin leads OU and all Big 12 newcomers with his 18.3 scoring average in conference play.
• With five regular season games remaining, Mason-Griffin already ranks second on OU's all-time freshman list in 3-point makes (64) and fifth in assists (118).  He needs four 3-pointers and 24 assists to claim sole possession of first place in both categories.
• No Oklahoma freshman has ever shot better from 3-point range for a season than Mason-Griffin's current .448 mark or has averaged more than his current 35.0 minutes per outing.

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN WINNING AND LOSING
• In their four Big 12 wins, the Sooners have held opponents to .401 field goal and .301 3-point shooting (6.3 makes per game).  In OU's eight Big 12 losses, foes have shot .490 from the field and .481 from behind the arc (7.9 makes per game).
• Cade Davis is averaging 17.0 points and 7.0 rebounds per Big 12 win (shooting .473 from the field) compared to 9.1 points and 3.4 rebounds in league losses (shooting .377).
• Ryan Wright is averaging 7.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per Big 12 victory compared to 4.0 points and 4.3 rebounds in league losses.

PICK YOUR POISON
Five different Sooners have each made at least 30 treys through the team's first 26 games.  No other Big 12 team has more than three players with at least 30 3-point makes each heading into the week.  Tommy Mason-Griffin leads OU with 64 makes (2.5 per game) and is followed by Cade Davis with 48 (1.8 per outing), Tony Crocker with 35 (1.4 per game), Steven Pledger with 32 (1.3 per contest) and Willie Warren with 30 (1.4 per game).  OU ranks first in the Big 12 and 14th nationally with its 8.4 treys per outing (the school record is 8.5 in 1998-99).

GUARDS SHOULDERING THE LOAD
Five of OU's top six scorers, including its top three, are guards.  The Sooners' backcourt has accounted for 1,445 of the team's 1,907 points, or 76 percent.  Willie Warren leads the guard charge by averaging 16.3 points per outing and is followed by Tommy Mason Griffin (14.0), Tony Crocker (11.6), Cade Davis (10.0) and Steven Pledger (6.0).  All five of those players have surpassed the 20-point mark at least twice this year (Warren has done it seven times, Mason-Griffin six times, Crocker and Davis three times each and Pledger twice).  Mason-Griffin (three times), Crocker and Davis have all scored at least 20 points in a half this season.  Last year, guards accounted for 52 percent of OU's points.

YOUTH MOVEMENT
The freshman foursome of Tommy Mason-Griffin (14.0 ppg), Tiny Gallon (10.1), Steven Pledger (6.0) and Andrew Fitzgerald (4.3) has combined to score 859 of the team's 1,907 points this year, or 45 percent.  Mason-Griffin ranks third in the Big 12 with his .448 3-point field goal percentage and ranks fourth with his 4.5 assists per game.  Gallon, who is shooting .533 from the field, ranks seventh in the Big 12 in rebounds per game (8.1) and eighth with six double-doubles (he missed out on another by one rebound).  Pledger has knocked down 32 treys and has two games of more than 20 points.  Fitzgerald has made seven starts and is averaging 4.3 points on .537 field goal shooting.

CROCKER CLIMBING THE CHARTS
Senior guard Tony Crocker entered the year ranked 34th in school history in points (1,008) and seventh in 3-point makes (158).  With a strong start to the season, the 6-6 San Antonio, Texas, product has vaulted to the No. 17 spot in points (1,299) and the No. 4 spot in 3-pointers (193).  Crocker, who has started his last 91 games, needs 39 points to tie Mookie Blaylock (1988-89) for 16th place in scoring.  At his current pace of 11.6 points per game, Crocker would finish the regular season ranked 15th on the Sooners' all-time scoring chart.

Crocker also has a chance to make a run at the top spot on OU's games played list.  He entered the year with 102 career appearances and would finish the regular season with 131 if he plays in every remaining game.  Depending on the Sooners' postseason fortunes, Crocker could challenge the record of 137 career games played by Darryl “Choo” Kennedy (1984-87).

On Feb. 9 against Texas Tech, Crocker became just the second Sooner (and first of the Big 12 era) to register at least 1,000 points, 500 rebounds and 150 3-pointers in a career.   Forward Ryan Minor (1993-96) racked up 1,946 points, 767 rebounds and 170 treys.
