COACH STOOPS ON BCS
From Coach Stoops: "I understand that the announcement of the poll makes for good conversation among media and fans, but two games into our conference season, it's too early for us to give it any attention. At this point, it just speaks to the quality of the schedule we've played, and while I appreciate the caliber of those teams, our focus has to be on the games we have remaining. We're not talking or thinking about anything but playing Missouri."

SUNDAY NOTES ON THE SOONERS
QB Landry Jones completed 30-of-34 passes during Oklahoma's 52-0 win over Iowa State on Saturday night in Norman. Jones missed trying the NCAA record for completion percentage in a game (Min. 30 attempts) by a single completion. BYU's Steve Sarkisian set that mark by going 31-of-34 against Fresno State on Nov. 25, 1995. Against Iowa State, Jones' completions went for 344 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions.

RB DeMarco Murray scored three touchdowns in the victory to run his career total to 58. That breaks the previous school record of 57 set by 1969 Heisman Trophy winner Steve Owens. Owens' mark stood for 41 years.

Ryan Broyles broke his own school record for receptions in one game with 15 against Iowa State. Those catches went for 182 yards and one touchdown. Broyles actually tied the mark with 13 grabs in the first half. He set the previous record against Stanford in last season's Sun Bowl.

Oklahoma won its 34th consecutive home game in defeating Iowa State 52-0. That's the longest active streak in the nation. The shutout was the fifth during the winning streak. Over the 34-game span, Oklahoma has outscored its opponents by more than 1,000 total points - 1,519-505.

Bob Stoops picked up victory No. 123 with the win over Iowa State. That moves him into the No. 3 spot for career wins at Oklahoma. He had been tied with Bennie Owen, the man for whom the Sooners' game field is named, who won 122 games from 1905-26 (122-54-16). Stoops now trails Barry Switzer, who won 157 games, and Bud Wilkinson, who won 145.

True freshman running back Roy Finch, who had been sidelined by a foot injury, made his debut against Iowa State. He rushed 16 times for 92 yards. Finch became the 13th true freshman to play for OU this season. Another six redshirt freshman have played.
