10:46 p.m. | Final: Missouri 36, Oklahoma 27 Oklahoma falls for the first time this season with a 36-27 loss at Missouri. The Sooners (6-1, 2-1) will be in action next at Owen Field against Colorado on Saturday, Oct. 30, at 8:15 p.m. The game will be televised on ESPN2. Tough loss but OU is still in the middle of the conference title race. We appreciate you following along here at SoonerSports.com. As always, Boomer Sooner! 10:24 p.m. | OU Tightens Game After bobbling the ball, Mossis Madu rolls for a 77-yard kickoff return. OU scores quickly but misses on the two-point conversion. 10:19 p.m. | Game Story Oklahoma's defense simply bent too far tonight and gave up big play after big play. The Sooners were unable to apply pressure to Gabbert. Conversely, OU's offense moved on Missouri but had critical turnovers to thwart scoring drives. The sellout crowd is roaring now with the lead at 36-21. 10:16 p.m. | Game Slipping Away Mizzou stays with the script it has played all night. Passes deep on the Sooners are completed and dropped for no yards after catch. With the current drive knocking at another TD, the fans here in Columbia can sense a win finally coming over the Sooners. 10:12 p.m. | Staying in the Air Oklahoma's offense comes up empty and it's three-and-out for the Sooners. Now, the defense returns to the field. We'll see if Pinkel and the Tigers go conservative or if Missouri keeps the ball in the air. On its first play of this drive, the Tigers go back to the pass. 10:06 p.m. | Defense Holds OU's defense stiffens at its own one and forces the field goal attempt. Mizzou connects and the lead is eight for the Tigers, 29-21. Jeremy Beal blows up the final play with his fourth tackle for loss -- a single game record for the senior defensive end. 10:03 p.m. | Another Turnover Jones throws his second pick and Missouri is in business at OU's 22. The Sooner secondary is playing far off the receivers and, with little pressure, Gabbert is flinging the ball. The Tigers use a lateral to score an apparent TD but the ball is placed at the one. 9:59 p.m. | Will OU Respond? With plenty of time on the clock (12:43), will Oklahoma put together another drive and force the Tigers to respond late in the fourth quarter? The Sooners are veterans of tight games. We'll see if they can capitalize on that experience and stay poised. 9:55 p.m. | Tigers Regain Lead Gabbert burns the Sooners with a 38-yard pass for touchdown and the Tigers are back on top. The two-point try is blown up after Gabbert drops the ball in the backfield. The margin is five. 9:45 p.m. | Murray Ties Career High DeMarco Murray has tied a career high with eight receptions. Murray also had eight catches against Texas in 2009 and has had four games with at least seven receptions including seven against Cincinnati. 9:43 p.m. | Broyles to No. 2 With his seven receptions, Ryan Broyles moved to No. 2 on the career receptions list at OU. Jones passed Juaquin Iglesias (2005-08), who had 202 career receptions and sits behind Mark Clayton's school record of 221 (2001-04). Broyles currently has 110 yards and has now eclipsed the 100-yard receiving mark in 13 career games including nine of the last 10 games. 9:39 p.m. | Atmosphere Totally different atmosphere inside the stadium with the Sooners holding the lead for the first time in this game. Several Mizzou fans mentioned this during the day leading up to tonight's game: the Tiger fans would be loud as long as MU held the advantage but would retreat quickly when things started going south. Hey, they're only down by one point Mizzou fans. Are doubts creeping in? 9:36 p.m. | Hanna TD James Hanna comes up with a touchdown catch in his third consecutive game to put the Sooners up, 21-20. The tight end is back in action for the Sooner offense. You could feel the air go out of the stadium on that score. Hopefully, Mizzou can also feel its old demons rising again here against Oklahoma. 9:35 p.m. | Kenney Stepping Up Cameron Kenney comes up with another clutch catch. Kenney is expected to produce with Dejuan Miller now out for the season. 9:32 p.m. | OU Driving So far, Missouri has lived up to its billing and is not the paper Tiger some pundits suggested. The Tiger offense is for real. However, so is the Sooner offense and OU is driving for the lead here with less than five minutes left in the third quarter. 9:26 p.m. | Rain Game The rain that has threatened all day is really coming down here at Faurot Field. Mizzou connects on a field goal and stretches the lead to six, 20-14. How will the wet weather impact the game? It will be interesting to see how Missouri's FieldTurf holds up. 9:23 p.m. | Step Behind Gabbert continues to shred the Sooners with long passes down the middle of the field. The Oklahoma secondary appears a step behind as it makes the tackle immediately after the catch. 9:19 p.m. | ABC Audio Issues If you're watching the game on TV, it's not your set that's the problem. ABC is experiencing some major audio issues. The audio has completely cut out on a number of occasions in the second half. 9:15 p.m. | Missed FG, Missed Chance Jimmy Stevens misses on a field goal attempt 30 yards out and the Sooners remain down by three. The Sooners get nothing on the scoreboard from that clutch strip of the ball by Nelson. 9:11 p.m. | Nelson On the Road Jonathan Nelson gets the strip to force the fumble on that last Missouri play. Nelson came up big in Oklahoma's last true road game at Cincinnati with a forced fumble and an interception to turn back the Bearcats. Nelson is also a lively weekly video subject. Check out his video series here at SoonerSports.com. 9:08 p.m. | Turnover Mizzou Although the play is under review, it's nice to see Missouri sweating out a possible turnover. Both teams this season have been exceptional in winning the turnover margin but OU blinked in the first half. Regardless of this decision, Mizzou appears a little more shaky in taking care of the ball. 9:05 p.m. | Quick Action Missouri's offense takes very little time from snap of the ball to pass in the air. That and Mizzou's stout offensive line are limiting the chances OU's defensive line have at disrupting the passing game. 8:58 p.m. | Difference We've been alluding to it the entire first half, but the biggest storylines so far tonight are the things OU is failing to do -- hanging onto the football and getting to the quarterback. The Sooners have two turnovers and no sacks, which are directly reflected on the scoreboard. Missouri has seven points off turnovers and Gabbert is 13-of-20 passing for 129 yards. Also, both of OU's turnovers have been in the red zone. 8:46 p.m. | Halftime Interview From the halftime interview by ABC: Coach Stoops acknowledges the Sooners are fortunate to be down only three after some mistakes in the first half. He also points out those mistakes are easy to correct: "Take care of the football, simple as that." 8:44 p.m. | 300 at the Half With 301 first half yards, OU eclipsed the 300-yard mark by halftime for the fourth time this season and the second consecutive time following a season-best 383 first half yards against Iowa State. OU also accomplished the feat vs. Florida State (372) and Cincinnati (314). Stay tuned for the second half... 8:41 p.m. | Halftime With all the miscues by the Sooners in the first half, the opinion up here in the press box is that it could be worse on the scoreboard. The Sooners are down only three, 17-14. 8:39 p.m. | Murray Catching Murray currently has six receptions, marking his fourth career game and second game this season with at least six receptions. Murray had seven receptions for 21 yards against Cincinnati and had a career-high eight receptions for 116 yards against Texas in 2009. 8:37 p.m. | Pressure Lacking Just about any quarterback can burn a defense if he has plenty of time behind his line. That's what we're watching unfold as Gabbert enjoys an undisturbed pocket. That last holding call is a move in the right direction. The Sooners look to force a field goal attempt. 8:34 p.m. | Cough? Despite allowing a kickoff returned for TD, an interception and a fumble, OU has tied the game against the Tigers. Isn't it time for Missouri to cough up the ball? Good thing the refs observed that timeout call by Gabbert. His center did not and the ball flew. 8:31 p.m. | Trust in Freshman Again, OU is not afraid to turn to their true freshmen in critical situations. We mentioned Kenny Stills on the Sooners' first touchdown, and on fourth-and-one on this drive, OU calls Trey Millard's number again to pick up the first down. DeMarco Murray punches it in two plays later to tie the game. 8:26 p.m. | TD, Murray DeMarco Murray waltzes in on a four-yard pass from Landry Jones and Oklahoma evens the score, 14-14, with four minutes and change before halftime. After breaking the OU all-time career touchdown mark last Saturday in Norman, Murray begins to stretch his lead with TD No. 59. 8:19 p.m. | Big Pass Huge play from Landry Jones to Ryan Broyles on a third-and-16. From the shadow of their own goal post, OU used two plays and is taking shots at the Missouri end zone. 8:14 p.m. | Offenses Rolling By now, it's obvious that Missouri is going to move the ball against OU's defense. Conversely, the Sooners have rolled up and down the field against MU's defense. The difference on the scoreboard? Easy answer: turnovers. 8:11 p.m. | Burning Middle Slant passes over the middle are burning the Sooner linebackers this evening. Missouri is using plenty of misdirection in the backfield to temper the speed of the Sooners. 8:07 p.m. | Fumble Another turnover by the Sooners, this time a fumble by Mossis Madu, kills OU's scoring threat. Turnovers spell trouble at any time but especially on the road against an opponent with the ability to capitalize. The Sooner offense needs to buckle down and protect the ball. The defense returns to the field. 8:04 p.m. | Broyles Even not at 100 percent, Broyles is still one of the top receivers in the country. He showed it with tremendous concentration on that last catch. He's been in and out of the ball game tonight with a bum ankle, but it would definitely help the Sooner effort if he can make a few more plays like that. 8:03 p.m. | Back to Work A nice run by DeMarco Murray following blocks down the field from tackle Tyler Evans and center Ben Habern. Ryan Broyles burns his Mizzou defender to jet down the field for a big gain. OU needs its proven offensive weapons to come up big here on the road. 7:57 p.m. | Big 12 Race With Oklahoma State's loss to Nebraska earlier today in Stillwater, OU and Mizzou are battling to remain the Big 12's lone remaining undefeated team. Both divisions seem up for grabs at this point. 7:54 p.m. | Game Pace The first quarter seemed to fly by. With the turnovers and rapid pace of both offenses, it didn't seem like the fans had a chance to catch their breaths. Now, Mizzou is threatening to take the lead. 7:49 p.m. | INT An interception at the line of scrimmage ends OU's drive and puts Mizzou in position 28 yards out from the end zone. Up to the INT, OU's offense was humming down the field. Jones intended to flick that pass over the line. The pass traveled no more than a few yards right into the face of 7:46 p.m. | More on Millard Playing in his own backyard, Trey Millard, another true freshman, with a big carry on his first touch. Musburger noted that Millard was heavily recruited by the Tigers, but he was concerned they were going to turn him into a linebacker. His heart was set on playing fullback, however, which is why he came to Oklahoma. It's proven to be a good choice, and we're all thankful. 7:44 p.m. | Finch, Murray Roy Finch electrifies the Sooner fans with a jolt of a run here late in the first quarter. DeMarco Murray is split out wide with Finch lining up in the backfield. Kevin Wilson is treating them as interchangeable parts at this point in the offense tonight. 7:39 p.m. | OU Pass Rush Oklahoma's pass rush so far has not applied much pressure to Blaine Gabbert. Missouri boasts a veteran offensive line led by senior center Tim Barnes flanked by juniors at guard and tackle. We'll see if OU's d-ends and tackles wear down the line as the game goes on. OU's defensive tackles were proficient against Iowa State last week in Norman (a Cyclones team, by the way, that handed Texas its third loss of the season earlier today -- in Austin no less). 7:36 p.m. | Millard at Mizzou Freshman fullback Trey Millard (a Columbia, Mo., native) rumbles for a career-long 25 yards but the Sooner offense stalls and is forced to punt. Offensive coordinator Kevin Wilson called a couple of runs for DeMarco Murray to test the middle of the Tiger defense but Murray was stuffed. Mizzou takes over. 7:24 p.m. | Stills Comes Up Again A number of OU's freshmen have played big roles this season, but perhaps none have been cooler under pressure than Kenny Stills. The receiver from Encinitas, Calif., had his biggest performance this year in OU's marquee game against Texas. He opens tonight with a heady play for OU's first score to help turn the momentum in Oklahoma's favor. 7:23 p.m. | Homecoming Tradition Missouri claims to have started the Homecoming tradition in 1911. That year, the Missouri-Kansas game was to be played on campus for the first time ever. With Missouri trailing the series 12-5-3, Missouri's AD issued a plea to MU alums and former players to "come home" for the game. Hence, as the legend goes, the Homecoming tradition was born. 7:22 p.m. | TD Sooners Oklahoma quickly evens the score with a TD strike from Landry Jones to freshman receiver Ryan Broyles. That certainly didn't take long. Keep in mind that the Sooners have never trailed at the end of any quarter this season. 7:19 p.m. | Winchester Recovers Special teams comes up with a turnover on the punt to atone for giving up the TD on the kickoff. No. 86 James Winchester (Washington, Okla.) makes his third fumble recovery of the season (at Cincinnati, Texas). Both of Winchester's previous recoveries were in the fourth quarter -- and both were critical in keeping the Sooners undefeated. 7:13 p.m. | TD Missouri Oklahoma won the toss and will defer. Patrick O'Hara will kick off and MU will start with the ball. Coach Stoops chooses to put his defense out there first here on the road. Check that as Missouri takes the opening kickoff the distance for the game's first score. 7:10 p.m. | Welcome to the Show Oklahoma has taken the field behind the traditional crimson flags spelling out "Sooners". Jeremy Beal and Travis Lewis are meeting with the Missouri captains for the coin flip. True to their "Welcome to the Zou" branding campaign, the speakers are blaring "Welcome to the Jungle". The Tigers have taken the field and we're about set to get this game started. Boomer Sooner! 7:07 p.m. | OU and No. 1 In addition to his signature line for ABC college football broadcasts, Brent Musburger opened tonight's telecast with a single question, "Can Oklahoma bury the No. 1 jinx?" As we learned in Coach Stoops' interview with Erin Andrews this morning, the Sooners have embraced the No. 1 ranking. "You want to be in this position," Stoops said. Perhaps the Sooners will be out to prove they are worthy of the high standing after hearing some scrutiny this week following the initial BCS poll. 7:03 p.m. | No. 1 Welcomed We're starting to see some rain here as we near kickoff. It's showing up clearly in the ABC national broadcast which is now live. The Missouri band and alumni band are lining up at the tunnel to welcome the team to the field. The stadium PA just welcomed the "No. 1-ranked Oklahoma Sooners" to Faurot Field. 6:56 p.m. | Missouri Waltz The student section for Missouri stretches along the lower bowl on the east side of the stadium. Most in the crowd are waving gold shakers as the alumni band plays the Missouri Waltz. Of course, they follow that up with a little Lady Gaga. 6:51 p.m. | Teams Clear Field OU and Missouri players have cleared the field and Mizzou's alumni band will begin the Homecoming festivities here in Columbia. One side of the stadium is chanting "M-I-Z" with the other side answering "Z-O-U". Again, a sellout crowd decked predominately in gold under the lights has OU squarely in its sights. 6:44 p.m. | Roughly 5,000 in Crimson Oklahoma received an allotment of 4,000 tickets for this game (a Big 12 standard) with the majority of seats located in Section 1 in the southwest corner of Faurot Field and another group placed way up in the corner of the northwest deck. There's a sprinkling of crimson however throughout the stadium. Whether those are Sooner fans that purchased tickets from Missouri or spouses of MU fans with OU ties is impossible to know. We'd guess roughly 5,000 Sooner fans mixed in with the 71,000+ here in Columbia. 6:38 p.m. | Coach Stoops Here's a quick shot of Coach Stoops in the middle of the OU players warming up on Faurot Field. Coach is easy to spot with his trademark white visor -- even from the fifth floor of the Mizzou press box.  6:29 p.m. | Sooner Fans The Oklahoma contingent of fans decked in crimson and the traveling Pride of Oklahoma members are located in the southwest corner of the stadium here at Faurot Field. Both groups welcomed the full team to the field for warmups a couple of minutes ago. No rain at the moment here in Columbia and the stadium is filling up fast. The rock "M" in the open, north end of the stadium probably won't be visible with Mizzou fans already covering the general admission area. 6:22 p.m. | Sooners Stand Out Honestly, if there's a prettier away uniform under the lights than OU's standard whites with crimson numbers on the jersey, crimson piping on the pants and crimson helmet -- we haven't seen it. Mizzou will be wearing its home black jerseys and helmets with gold pants.  6:09 p.m. | Stadium Filling Up Below is a shot of Missouri's Memorial Stadium taken from the sixth-floor photo deck of the press box from a few minutes ago. A sellout crowd of 71,000+ is expected for tonight's game.  5:53 p.m. | Set Up in Press Box The OU communications and internet staff are here in place at the press box at Faurot Field. The lights are on and the gates opened at 5:30 p.m. It's a "gold-out" here in Columbia and the Sooner fans in crimson will stand out in contrast. 4:57 p.m. | Sooners on Their Way The team is on the bus and on their way to Faurot Field in Columbia. It looks like inclement weather is inevitable for tonight's contest. Forecasts are calling for a 100 percent chance of rain around kickoff and only slowly diminishing during the course of the game. 2:43 p.m. | Full Slate of Top 25s It's a great day to be a college football fan with a number of top 25 matchups on the schedule. Currently in progress -- No. 14 OSU vs. No. 16 Nebraska on ABC, No. 13 Wisconsin vs. No. 15 Iowa on ESPN, and No. 4 Auburn vs. No. 6 LSU on CBS. Of course, we're looking forward to the nightcap between No. 1 OU and No. 11 Missouri, but for now we're going to sit back and enjoy the rest of today's games. 2:36 p.m. | Huge Upset in Austin A week after a shutout at the hands of the Sooners, Iowa State goes on the road to knock off Texas, 28-21. ISU built a 28-6 lead before holding off a late Texas charge. It's the second year in a row the Cyclones have pulled off a huge upset on the road after they beat Nebraska in Lincoln last year. OU and Missouri fans alike were pulling for Iowa State from the tailgate lots in Columbia. 11:03 a.m. | Corso's Headgear Pick After faking out the hometown crowd by bringing a Missouri helmet out from under the desk, Lee Corso said, "Not so fast, my friend," and donned Boomer's head for today's final pick on GameDay. Check out the video of Corso's pick here.  10:42 a.m. | Stoops on OU's No. 1 Ranking Erin Andrews asked Coach Stoops this morning how the Sooners have handled the BCS No. 1 ranking this week. View the interview here. Andrews' feature on DeMarco Murray just aired on GameDay as well. We'll post that video as soon as it's available.  9:54 a.m. | OU's History on College GameDay Today is the 24th time GameDay has broadcast from an Oklahoma game since the program began going on location in 1993. Of those appearances, six have been in Norman, 10 have been at neutral sites including Dallas and bowl games, and eight have been on the road. The Sooners hold a 16-7 record all-time with GameDay on site. 9:26 a.m. | College GameDay Live From Columbia ESPN's College GameDay is broadcasting live from Missouri's campus Saturday morning.
