WACO, Texas - The University of Oklahoma volleyball team defeated Baylor Saturday afternoon, 3-1 (25-22, 25-21, 13-25, 25-22). The Sooners move to 11-5 on the year and 3-2 in Big 12 play. The Bears fell to 8-8 overall and 1-4 in conference play.
Suzy Boulavsky led the Sooner offense with 17 kills. Caitlin Higgins and Brianne Barker each recorded their second straight double-doubles. Higgins had 10 kills and 10 digs, while Barker had 35 assists and 14 digs. Maria Fernanda led the team with 23 digs. Sallie McLaurin was the leading blocker with three block solos and one block assist.
Elizabeth Graham had 15 kills, hitting .528 for the Bears. Torri Campbell added 11 kills and four block assists. The Bears posted a higher kill total and hitting percentage than the Sooners but committed more attack errors than OU.
The Sooners return to action Wednesday evening at Kansas State. First serve from Ahearn Fieldhouse is set for 7 p.m. CT on Fox Sports Kansas City.
