Willie Warren added 15 points and Tony Crocker 14 for the Sooners (9-5), who ended a two-game losing streak and picked up some momentum heading into Saturday's Big 12 opener at Baylor.
"We wanted to end on a positive note in the non-conference schedule," Davis said. "Feels good to get a win, and now we move on."
Sean Berry scored 16 points and had 14 rebounds to lead the Hawks (3-10), who shot just 30 percent and committed 18 turnovers.
Oklahoma took control the game early. It led 7-0, 18-4, 49-27 at halftime and by as many as 39 points.
"Teams are only going to get bigger and better from here on out," Crocker said. "We have some days to get ready. We're going to go hard in practice."
The Sooners attempted a season-high 34 3-pointers, made 11 and committed a season-low seven turnovers.
"It was good to win and now it's time to get prepared for conference," Oklahoma coach Jeff Capel said. "We have a long way to go, and we have to do that very quickly. There are no easy ones in our league."
The Sooners lost to UTEP in Oklahoma City on Dec. 21 and then at Gonzaga on Thursday.
"Our guys might not admit it, but they were struggling confidence-wise," Capel said. "To have some positive stuff happen tonight is good. We know the level on Saturday will be a lot different than we saw today."
