TEMPE, Ariz. -- The Sooner soccer team completed a two-game sweep over Arizona and Arizona State during spring action on Sunday.
OU (4-0) topped Arizona, 3-1, with two goals from Kelsey Kraft, and another from Michelle Alexander. All three tallies were recorded in the first half of a game that featured eight players (including goal keepers) on each side of the field.
OU dominated play with 16 shots to the Wildcats' five and was led by Kraft, who continued her torrid pace this spring. The sophomore entered the game with four goals this spring and later in the day, she recorded her second assist of the spring schedule.
During Sunday's second game of the day, the Sooners bested host Arizona State, 1-0. Whitney Palmer scored the game-winning goal and was assisted by Kraft and Sage Coralli.
OU finished the game with the advantage in shots (4-3) and corner kicks (2-0).
"I'm happy with our progress this spring," said OU Head Coach Nicole Nelson. "We continue to get better each time we step on field. We are learning to work hard consistently and it's paying off."
The Sooners have two games remaining on the spring schedule, including one home contest. OU will host Arkansas on April 4 at 6 p.m.
