NORMAN, Okla. - University of Oklahoma signees Keith "Tiny" Gallon and Tommy Mason-Griffin were named to the 2009 McDonald's All-American High School Basketball Team Wednesday.  The pair, which represents half of the McDonald's All-Americans signed by Big 12 schools (Kansas State and Texas each signed one), will be members of the 12-man West squad.

Oklahoma is one of four schools with multiple 2009 McDonald's All-Americans.  North Carolina (four), Duke (two) and Villanova (two) are the others.

Gallon, a 6-9, 300-pound center from Houston, Texas, who attends Oak Hill (Va.) Academy, is rated by ESPN.com as the nation's No. 14 senior and No. 4 center.

Mason-Griffin is a 5-10, 205-pound point guard, also from Houston, who attends Madison High School.  He is rated No. 24 nationally by Scout.com and No. 3 among point guards.

"I'm very excited about Tommy and Tiny being named to the McDonald's All-American Game," said third-year OU head coach Jeff Capel. "This is one of the most prestigious honors a high school basketball player can achieve, and I'm very happy for them. I think both young men embody what a McDonald's All American represents -- talented basketball players and high-character young men. We are proud of them, as well as the other three young men we signed in November -- Andrew Fitzgerald, Kyle Hardrick and Steven Pledger."

Gallon and Mason-Griffin become the seventh and eighth OU signees to earn McDonald's All-American honors.  The others were Wayman Tisdale (1982), Jeff Webster (1989), Ryan Humphrey (1997), Drew Lavender (2003), Blake Griffin (2007) and Willie Warren (2008).

Capel has inked four of those eight OU McDonald's All-American signees.

The 2009 McDonald's All-American Game will be played Wednesday, April 1, at Bank United Center in Miami, Fla.  It is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. CST and will air on ESPN.
