NORMAN, Okla. – After dropping the opening two sets, the University of Oklahoma volleyball team rallied to win the third set and was poised to force a fifth set before falling to Texas A&M, 3-1 (23-25, 22-25, 25-22, 23-25) in front of 1,025 at McCasland Field House. The Sooners fell to 18-9(11-7 Big 12) on the year, while A&M improved to 15-10 (8-9 Big 12).

“It was a hard-fought match,” said Oklahoma head coach Santiago Restrepo. “When it came down to crunch time, Texas A&M simply played better. Things just didn't fall our way when we needed them to.”

Sophomore Suzy Boulavsky led the Sooners offensively with her second career double-double. Boulavsky's 21 kills matched her career high set earlier this season. Her .351 hitting percentage was a team best and she added 15 digs and four block assists.

Sophomore setter Brianne Barker tallied her 21st double-double this season with 43 assists and a team-high 22 digs. It was Barker's seventh career 20+ dig match.

Junior Francie Ekwerekwu added 11 kills and three block assists, while junior Chrissy Disarro got her third start of the season at middle blocker. Disarro made the most of it; recording a team-high five block assists and adding nine kills.

Sophomore Caitlin Higgins added seven kills, while Barker added five for the Sooners. Defensively, OU had five players tally double-digit digs. In addition to Barker's 22 and Boulavsky's 15, senior Bridget Laplante added 13 and Higgins had 12. Freshman Maria Fernanda had 19 defensive helpers. Higgins added OU's only two service aces on the evening.

Sarah Ammerman led Texas A&M with 22 kills, while Kristen Schevikhoven had 27 digs and 53 assists. Ammerman was one of four Aggies with double figure kills.

As a team, OU hit .223, besting A&M's .216 percentage. The Aggies totaled 71 kills on the night, compared to the Sooners' 55. Oklahoma had just 15 attack errors to A&M's 29. OU out-played A&M at the net, downing nine blocks to the Aggies' five.

The Sooners have an open date Saturday before returning home for Senior Night on Wednesday, Nov. 25. First serve between OU and the second-ranked Texas Longhorns is set for 7 p.m. CT at McCasland Field House.
