TULSA, Okla. – Senior Blake Boswell won the ITA Central Region Back Draw Championship, Sunday, after defeating Wichita State's Jon Orbist.
After dropping the first set, 7-6, Boswell won two-straight sets, 6-1, 10-3, to claim the finals victory.
In his first match Boswell defeated the first of two Shockers, Sven Kasper, 6-2, 6-3.
Following that match Boswell defeated Iowa's Marc Bruche in three sets. Boswell took the first set, 6-3, but dropped the second set, 6-1. Boswell claimed the match in the super tiebreaker set, 10-4.
In main draw action junior Ionut Beleleu fell to Nebraska's Christopher Aumueller in quarterfinal action.
Next up for the Sooners is a trip to Austin, Texas, to compete in the Texas Invitational, Oct. 30-Nov. 1.
