NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma women's volleyball team faces its toughest challenge of the season Wednesday evening. The Sooners (7-6, 3-2 Big 12) face the nation's third ranked team, the Texas Longhorns (8-2, 2-1 Big 12) in 7 p.m. CT matchup from McCasland Field House. The game will be broadcast nationally by ESPNU with Karch Kiraly and Justin Kutcher calling the action.

The first 250 fans to Wednesday evening's contest receive an OU stadium cup. OU students receive free popcorn and drinks at the concession stands with a valid student ID.

Oklahoma is seeking its second series win in the last five meetings. The Sooners upended the Longhorns in Norman in 2006, snapping Texas' 28-game series win streak. The Longhorns are the fourth ranked opponent OU has faced this season.

OU used double-digit kills from five players to come from behind to defeat Texas Tech on Saturday afternoon. The Red Raiders won the opening set before the Sooners took the second. After the intermission, Tech responded by taking set three, but OU took control of the fourth set in a runaway. The Sooners fended off the Red Raider attack in the fifth set to win.

Freshman Suzy Boulavsky tied her season high with 13 kills to lead the offensive attack for the Sooners. Boulavsky hit. 286 on the day and added two block assists. Freshman Caitlin Higgins tallied her sixth double-double of the season and third straight with 12 kills and 13 digs. Junior Bridget Laplante and sophomore Chrissy Disarro each added 10 kills for OU. Laplante also had 13 digs for her sixth double-double of the year. Freshman Brianne Barker and senior Lacy Barnes led Oklahoma defensively with 15 digs each. Barker's 47 assists gave the Amarillo, Texas native her seventh double-double this season and third straight.

Texas is 1-2 against teams in the top 10 this season with a win against Southern California, a team the Sooners fell to 3-1 earlier this year. The Longhorns' lone conference loss was at second-ranked Nebraska. Texas is 5-0 in three set matches this season and 0-1 in those that go a full five sets.

Oklahoma hits the road this weekend to face Iowa State on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. CT.
