Oklahoma Game Notes

• OU's 35-10 victory marked its 21st-straight home win, which ties for second-longest in program history and the longest under 10th-year head coach Bob Stoops.

• The Sooners improved to 29-11 against ranked opponents under Stoops. Oklahoma moves to 57-2 in Norman under Stoops.

• The OU defense limited TCU to a lone first-half field goal after shutting out Washington in the first half on Sept. 13. The last time the Sooner defense went consecutive games without allowing a first-half touchdown was in 2006 when Oklahoma held Colorado scoreless in the opening half and allowed just a field goal to Missouri in the first half of its next contest.

• OU's 438 yards of total offense was twice as much as any TCU opponent this season. Entering tonight's contest, TCU had allowed only one opponent to record over 200 yards of offense in 2008 (SMU-210).

• OU's victory over TCU was its first in Norman since 1954. The Horned Frogs had won the last two contests in Norman.

• With two interceptions in tonight's contest, the Sooners have recorded multiple picks in 34 of the last 78 outings and at least one interception in 80 of the last 107. OU has forced at least one turnover in 109 of Stoops' 123 games.

• With four turnovers against TCU, the OU defense has forced seven turnovers in the past two contests.

Individual Notes

Sam Bradford
• Bradford's career-best 411 passing yards is the third-most all-time by a Sooner quarterback. The Oklahoma City native is only the second OU quarterback to throw for over 400 yards in a game. Current OU quarterbacks coach Josh Heupel accomplished the feat twice in '99 (Louisville - 429, Baylor - 420).

• Bradford's 202 first-quarter passing yards set an OU record for passing yards in the opening quarter by a Sooner quarterback. Bradford eclipsed Jason White's 184 first-quarter passing yards against Baylor in 2003.

• Bradford's 281 yards passing in the first half is the fourth-most all-time in a half among OU quarterbacks.

• Bradford became the second player in OU history to throw for over 300 yards in three consecutive contests. Heupel is the only other Sooner QB to accomplish the feat, doing so three times in his Oklahoma career.

• Bradford's 76-yard touchdown strike to Manuel Johnson in the waning parts of the first quarter, marked three touchdown passes of 60 yards or longer in a streak of 18 passes.

Manny Johnson
• Johnson set an Oklahoma record for receiving yards in a contest, becoming OU's first player to eclipse 200 receiving yards in a game. Johnson recorded 206 yards on five catches and three TDs. Oklahoma's previous best was 190 yards by Mark Clayton against Texas 2003.

• Johnson became the second OU player to record three touchdowns of 55 yards of more in a contest, joining Antonio Perkins, who broke an NCAA record against UCLA in 2003 with punt return TDs of 84, 74 and 65.

• Johnson's touchdown snags of 76, 55 and 63 yards in tonight's contest were his fourth, fifth and sixth scores of more than 50 yards in his career.

• Johnson racked up 131 yards on just two first-half catches. His 131 receiving yards in the opening half is the fifth-most all-time in a half in Oklahoma history. Mark Clayton leads the category with 166 yards on seven receptions against Texas A&M in 2003.

Brian Jackson
• Jackson's second-quarter interception was his third takeaway in the last two contests. The junior cornerback forced two fumbles at Washington.

Travis Lewis
• Freshman linebacker Travis Lewis recorded his first career interception in the fourth quarter of tonight's win.

By the Numbers

85,158 - Tonight's attendance was the largest of the season and fourth-most all-time at Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.

411 - Sam Bradford threw for 411 yards in tonight's win, marking the third consecutive game the sophomore QB has thrown for over 300 yards. His 411 yards is the third-highest in OU history.

206 - Receiving yards by Manuel Johnson, setting a new OU record.

200 - Manuel Johnson became Oklahoma's first player to eclipse the 200-yard mark in a game. The previous record was held by Mark Clayton who had 190 yards on seven catches against Texas in 2003.

55+ - Manuel Johnson became the second OU player to record three touchdowns of 55 yards of more in a contest, joining Antonio Perkins, who broke an NCAA record against UCLA in 2003 with punt return TDs of 84, 74 and 65.

59 - Tonight's attendance marked OU's 59th straight home sellout under 10th-year head coach Bob Stoops.

29 - OU won its 29th game over a ranked opponent under Stoops, compared with just 11 losses.

7 - The Oklahoma defense has forced seven turnovers over the past two contests, including four in tonight's win.

2 - Lendy Holmes recovered two fumble recoveries in tonight's contest while Adrian Taylor also recorded two sacks. Both marked respective career best's.

TCU Game Notes

• TCU's seven-game winning streak, third-longest in the nation, came to an end. Even with the defeat, the Horned Frogs' 4-1 record matches their best to a season in the last five years.

• TCU's opponent scored first for the first time this season. A 24-yard first-quarter touchdown pass from Oklahoma's Sam Bradford to Juaquin Iglesias also marked the first time in 2008 that the Horned Frogs trailed in a game.

• The Frogs allowed a touchdown on the opponent's opening drive of the game for the first time in their last eight contests, going back to a Nov. 8 date at BYU last season. It was only the third time in its last 20 games TCU allowed an opponent to score on its opening drive.

• Oklahoma's 222 first-quarter yards of total offense represented a single game season-high for a TCU opponent. The previous best for an entire contest was 210 yards by SMU last week.

• TCU had three first-half turnovers after committing just one in its opening four games. The Frogs were minus-4 in turnover margin on the night after entering the game +12 on the season. Over the last four seasons, TCU is 28-1 when ahead or even in that category and 6-8 when on the negative side.

• TCU limited Oklahoma to only 25 yards net rushing on the evening. The Frogs have kept each of their past eight opponents under the century mark in rushing, dating back to last season's loss at BYU (Nov. 9).

• Tonight's attendance of 85,158 is the third-largest crowd to see the Frogs play. The top two were for TCU games at Ohio State (87,439 in 1973; 86,412 in 1969).
