| Volleyball |
• Last Week: Oklahoma improved to 5-4 on the year by winning the 2008 Red Raider Round Up in Lubbock, Texas. The Sooners defeated Texas Tech, 3-2, for their first conference win of the season and went on to give TCU its first loss of the year, 3-1. OU closed out the tournament by dropping New Orleans, 3-1.
• This Week: Oklahoma hosts Missouri at 7 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the Howard McCasland Field House. The Sooners hit the road next Sunday to take on Texas A&M in a 2 p.m. contest from College Station.
• Notes: Redshirt sophomore Francie Ekwerekwu was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player, while freshman Brianne Barker earned the Best Setter award. Freshman Caitlin Higgins and sophomore Chrissy Disarro were also named to the all-tournament team.
• Promotions: Wednesday evening versus the Tigers is 50 Cent Hot Dog Night and the first 250 fans will receive an OU volleyball license plate.
| Soccer |
• Last Week: The Sooners dropped a pair of road games over the weekend. OU fell 3-0 at Memphis on Friday and then lost 2-1 at Mississippi on Sunday despite holding a 1-0 halftime lead. The one-goal loss was the third of the season for the Sooners.
• This Week: The Sooners return to action this weekend at home with a single game against Louisiana State on Friday, Sept. 19. Game time at John Crain Field is slated for 7 p.m.
• Notes: Sophomore forward Whitney Palmer's goal against Ole Miss was the 10th of her career as she became the third fastest Sooner to accomplish the feat (tied with Jonette Coquat-26 games) ... Palmer is one of five Sooners to score 10 career goals in 30 games or less and she only trails Heather Morrison (20 games) and Logan Womack (23 games) ... Palmer is also one of 12 Sooners to score 10 or more goals in her career.
• Promotions: Friday, Sept. 19, is Camp and Clinic Reunion Night at John Crain Field. Friday will also mark a celebration for Youth Soccer Month. The first 500 fans will receive Sooner soccer rally towels.
| Men's Tennis |
• Last Week: Three Sooners traveled to Annapolis, Md., to compete at the Navy Invitational. Ionut Beleleu, George Chaunturia, and Chase Miller brought home a combined record of 8-4 against squads from Navy, Maryland and Richmond. Aside from those three only one other Sooner saw action this weekend. Junior Andrei Daescu participated in the Costa Mesa Pro Futures Classic, which began on Friday Sept. 12. Daescu, rated No. 22 by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, has gone 3-0 thus far.
• This Week: Daescu will continue to compete in Costa Mesa, Calif., on Monday, facing off against Adam Morgan for a berth in the main draw. Oklahoma will spend the week preparing for the HEB Baylor Intercollegiate on Sept. 26-28.
• Notes: Junior Andrei Daescu and sophomore Ionut Beleleu are 3-0 after one weekend of fall play ... Beleleu brought home the No. 2 seed championship at the Navy Invitational ... Sophomore Chase Miller won the No. 3 seed doubles championship, going 3-0 while paired with Arkansas' Matt Walters.
| Women's Tennis |
• Last Week: Oklahoma's women's tennis team headed to Fayetteville, Ark., Friday for the Razorback Classic. The Sooners finished the weekend with a 10-14 overall record in singles and 5-6 in doubles. Sophomore Ana-Maria Constantinescu fell to No. 1 ranked Aurelija Miseviciute after advancing to Sunday's singles finals.
• This Week: The Sooners have a week off to prepare for the 2008 Riviera/ITA All-American Tournament held at the Riveria Tennis Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif., Sept. 27-Oct. 5.
• Notes: OU made it's first appearance Friday with new head coach Dave Mullins, who was named ITA National Assistant Coach of the Year in 2008.
