LUBBOCK, Texas - University of Oklahoma women's volleyball coach Santiago Restrepo got his 200th career win on Saturday morning as the Sooners (4-4, 1-0 Big 12) dropped TCU, 3-1, at the Red Raider Round Up. OU dropped the opening set to the Horned Frogs (9-1), 25-23, before bouncing back to take the next three sets – 25-15, 25-21 and 25-17.

Freshman Caitlin Higgins led the scoring attack for the Sooners with a game-high 14 kills. Higgins netted her second consecutive double-double by adding 11 digs. Redshirt sophomore Francie Ekwerekwu added 13 kills, while junior Bridget Laplante tallied 11. Laplante also added 10 digs for her third double-double this season.

Sophomore Chrissy Disarro led the blocking attack with a game-high six blocks. Disarro also tied her career-best in services aces with four against the Horned Frogs. Freshman Brianne Barker matched her season-high in block assists with five on the morning. Barker also bested her previous season-high in assists with 44 against TCU. Another freshman, Suzy Boulavsky, added a season-high seven kills after seeing action in all four sets.

The first set featured five ties and three lead changes. After the Horned Frogs got a kill from Lauren Otto, TCU jumped up 16-12 before OU cut the lead to one at 22-21 on a kill from Barker. From there, the Horned Frogs held on to take the 25-23 win.

Oklahoma took control of the second set early. The only tie of the set came at 1-1 and the Sooners went up 6-1 before the Horned Frogs put another point on the board. OU held an 18-9 advantage before TCU even reached double digits. Capitalizing off several Horned Frog errors and adding kills from Disarro and Ekwerekwu, Higgins put the set away at 25-15.

The third set proved not to be as biased with seven ties and two lead changes. Although the Sooners held the advantage early, TCU fought to keep the set within reach. The set's final tie came at 15-all before the Sooners slowly broke away and led 20-16 following an attack error from the Horned Frogs. Oklahoma was able to maintain the lead to take the set, 25-21.

In what proved to be the final set, the Sooners doubled up TCU at 10-5 following an attack error from TCU. After a Sooner miscue brought the Horned Frogs to within two, Oklahoma rallied to put the match away by scoring seven consecutive points. After allowing TCU to get a single point, the Sooners then answered with four straight. Following a TCU timeout with OU holding the 22-14 lead, the Sooners put the Horned Frogs away, 25-17 to take the match, 3-1.

OU concludes non-conference action tomorrow morning, facing New Orleans at 11 a.m. CT. The Sooners return home Wednesday evening to take on Missouri in a 7 p.m. CT contest from McCasland Field House.
