NORMAN, Okla. -- The Oklahoma Sooners' trend of winning extra-inning games this season ended on Saturday, as No. 11 Missouri won 6-5 in 10 innings at L. Dale Mitchell Park.  OU entered Saturday's game with a 4-0-1 record when playing in extra frames.

Despite 14 hits on the day, Oklahoma fell to 24-15-1 overall and 3-10-1 in the Big 12 standings while Missouri jumped to 28-9 and 9-5.  Aljay Davis (3-for-4) paced the offense and was also joined by Mike Gosse (2-for-4), Matt Harughty (2-for-5, 3 RBIs) and J.T. Wise (2-for-5, RBI) with multi-hit days at the plate.

The Sooners tied the game at five runs apiece in the seventh on Matt Harughty's two-run triple but the Tigers rallied for the game winner with a RBI single off the bat of Steve Gray (3-for-5, two RBIs) in the 10th inning.  Gray's single plated Aaron Senne, who walked off Chase Anderson (3-3) to begin the frame.  Missouri looked to add extra insurance later in the 10th but OU's Doug Buser gunned down Coleman at the plate to send the game into the bottom half of the frame where OU was retired in order.

"We had a base on balls there in the 10th inning, and it ends up being the winning run for them," said OU head coach Sunny Golloway.  "There are some walks in there that are keeping us from being a really good pitching staff.  We just have to consistently throw strikes."

In the bottom of the ninth, the Sooners put themselves into position to win the game with a leadoff single by Davis.  After Gosse's sacrifice bunt moved the runner to second, Harughty struck out to record the second out. Nick Tepesch then intentionally walked Aaron Baker and followed that with another strikeout with pinch hitter Jarod Freeman at the plate.

Tepesch (1-1) finished the game for Missouri on the mound and his only mistake was a walk issued over the final 1 2/3 innings.  Along with Scooter Hicks, the MIssouri bullpen did not surrender a run behind starter Kyle Gibson's seven innings.  The Sooners connected for 11 base hits and five runs off Gibson.

The scoring got started in the second inning as the Sooners and Tigers exchanged a pair of runs.  In the top of the second, Andrew Doyle walked Trevor Coleman to begin the frame, who advanced to third on a double and later scored on the RBI ground out by Kurt Calvert (3-for-4, two RBIs).  With two outs, Kyle Mach delivered the second double of the inning to give Missouri a 2-0 lead.  Mach tried to score from second after the next batter, Greg Folgia singled to left field, but Spencer Selby's throw to the plate was online and ended the frame.

In the bottom half of the second, Selby delivered a single down the left-field line to begin the frame and then scored on J.T. Wise's double to the gap in right center.  The extra-base hit was followed by Sperring's single and Wise later scored after Tyson Seng grounded into a double play.

Oklahoma took its first lead of the game in the bottom of the fifth on Harughty's bunt single.  With runners on the corners and one out, Harughty perfectly placed his bunt down the first base side and legged out the single to give OU a 3-2 advantage.

Missouri regained the lead in the top half of the sixth as Doyle surrendered a walk and three singles.

The Tigers extended their advantage with a solo home run in the seventh off Doyle before he was relieved by Anderson.  Doyle lasted 6 1/3 innings but was tagged for five runs off nine hits and four walks.

The Sooners countered in the bottom of the seventh as Harughty tripled in a pair of runs to tie the ball game at five runs apiece.

After 2 2/3 innings of solid relief, the Tigers finally broke through and scored on Anderson.  Anderson suffered his third loss despite holding the Tigers' offense to one run off three hits and two walks over three innings.

The Big 12 series concludes at L. Dale Mitchell Park on Sunday at 1 p.m.  The game will be broadcast live on KOKC 1520 AM and a live web cast will also be available on Oklahoma All-Access.
