• With its 54-49 win, Oklahoma improved its season record to 22-10 overall and 10-7 against Big 12 Conference foes. OU improved to 10-0 against Colorado in conference postseason action (3-0 in the Big 12 format and 7-0 in the Big Eight format) . The Sooners also improved to 86-48 all-time against the Buffs. It was OU's 44th win in the last 50 meetings against CU.
• OU is now 19-8 (.704) in 12 years of the Big 12 Championship and has won at least one game in 10 of the 12 events.
• Oklahoma advanced to face the tournament's top seed, Texas, in Saturday's 1 p.m. CDT semifinals game (ESPN Plus and ESPN2). It marks OU's eighth semifinals appearance in Big 12 Championship play (5-2 record).
• OU is 4-1 against Texas in Big 12 Championship history with all four wins coming in Kansas City. The latest came in the 2002 semifinals, 67-51.
• Today's win gave Oklahoma a four-game winning streak, its second longest of the season. A five-game streak to end December and start January included wins over Arkansas, Gonzaga, West Virginia and Northeast Conference Tournament champion Mount St. Mary's.
• OU's 54 points today were its fewest in victory this season. The previous low was 61 in a 12-point victory over Rice on Jan. 5.
• The Sooners outrebounded the Buffs 46-37 and improved to 16-4 on the season when outboarding their opponent. OU finished with 15 offensive rebounds, the fifth time this season it recorded at least 15. Four players registered at least seven rebounds, a first for the team on the season.
• OU held CU scoreless for the first 5:05 of the game. Colorado was 0-4 from the field during that time while Oklahoma jumped out to a 10-0 lead.
• The Sooners held Colorado to 21 points in the first half and to 28 in the second. OU has held opponents to 30 or fewer points in seven of the last eight halves.
• Tony Crocker led all Oklahoma scorers with 12 points. Friday's game was the 19th this season that Crocker has hit double digits in points. He was 2-for-6 from 3-point range, marking the 17th time in 30 games he has made at least two treys.
• Taylor Griffin, who started for the 14th time in the last 15 outings, netted 10 points to eclipse the double-digit mark for the sixth time this season. He also pulled down seven rebounds and went 4-for-4 from the free throw line in 27 minutes of action.
• David Godbold and Longar Longar accounted for all six of Oklahoma's blocks with three apiece. The three rejections matched a career high for Godbold, who also swatted three shots in the Jan. 28 win over Oklahoma State.
• Blake Griffin saw 15 minutes of action in just his second game back from arthroscopic knee surgery to repair a partially torn medial meniscus in his right knee. Griffin finished with four points and nine rebounds. It tied his lowest scoring total of the season (four at USC on Nov. 29), not including the Jan. 14 game at Kansas when he injured his left knee and played only five minutes.
• Cade Davis, in his fifth start of the season, finished with six points with the help of two 3-point field goals.
