GAME PREVIEW
Trying to snap a two-game losing streak and pick up its fourth road win of the season, Oklahoma (15-7, 3-4) plays at Colorado (9-13, 1-7) on Saturday at 3 p.m. CST at the Coors Events Center in Boulder. The Sooners, who lost to a pair of ranked teams in the last week (at Texas A&M and versus Texas), stand in a tie with Texas Tech for sixth place in the league race. They are 3-3 on the road this year, with two of those victories coming against top-25 teams at the time. Colorado has lost six straight contests and is in last place in the conference standings. The Buffaloes are coming off a 64-63 road loss to Oklahoma State on Wednesday.
Saturday's game will air on the Sooner Radio Network (KOKC 1520-AM in Oklahoma City; KTBZ 1430-AM in Tulsa) with Bob Barry Sr. and Mike Houck announcing, and on Sirius 126 (Colorado's announcers). It will be televised nationally by ESPNU with Clay Matvick and Bob Sundvold calling the action.

WEDNESDAY'S TEXAS RECAP
For the second straight game, Oklahoma lost to a ranked opponent when leading at halftime. The Sooners led the Longhorns by as many as 10 points (15-5) and were up 29-25 at intermission. Texas took its first lead with 9:48 remaining in the contest.
OU lost despite holding Texas to .386 field goal shooting. The Longhorns shot .250 from the field in the first half but rebounded for a .560 performance in the second. Texas committed an OU-opponent-season-low five turnovers on the night.
Only four Sooners scored on the evening. Blake Griffin netted a team-high 19 points and was followed by David Godbold and Taylor Griffin (12 each), and Tony Crocker (11, all in the first half). OU's five starters played 174 of a possible 200 minutes.

Davis had not played in OU's previous three games and Gerber had played 18 minutes all season entering the day.

TEAM UPDATE
The Sooners stand in a sixth-place tie with Texas Tech in the Big 12 race, one-and-a-half games out of fifth place (Texas A&M is 5-3). After Saturday's game at Colorado, OU returns to Norman to host Iowa State (13-10, 3-5) on Wednesday.
Oklahoma received 13 votes in this week's AP poll and is slotted 37th. It has beaten three teams ranked ahead of it.

Wednesday's home loss to Texas dropped OU from the third best CollegeRPI.com ranking in the Big 12 to the league's sixth best. The Sooners stand at No. 37 (through Wednesday) and have played the nation's 12th toughest schedule.
After getting off to an 11-0 record when leading at the half, OU has dropped its last two under the circumstance. The Sooners led 29-23 at No. 23 Texas A&M last Saturday (they lost 60-52) and were up 29-25 on No. 12 Texas on Wednesday (lost 64-54).

OU's seven Big 12 opponents have shot an incredible .831 from the free throw line against the Sooners (108-for-130).
Either Blake Griffin (seven times) or Taylor Griffin (five times) has led OU in rebounding in each of the last 12 contests.
FRONTCOURT UPDATE
Senior center Longar Longar did not play Wednesday against Texas due to a broken bone in his right leg and is out indefinitely. Longar is the team's second-leading scorer and rebounder on the year with his 13.2 and 5.9 respective averages. A .530 shooter from the field on the season, he has scored in double figures in 10 of his last 13 games (he scored nine points in each of two of the other three outings). Longar also leads the squad with his 25 blocked shots.
In his five full Big 12 games, freshman Blake Griffin is averaging 16.8 points, 10.0 rebounds and 2.6 assists while shooting .592 from the field. OU's leading scorer (14.5) and rebounder (8.7) on the year, he has scored in double figures in 12 of his last 13 games (not including the Jan. 14 Kansas contest when he left five minutes into the game with a sprained MCL in his left knee). Griffin has failed to score at least 10 points in only three full games all season.
Three of Griffin's seven double-doubles have come against ranked opponents. He had 15 points and 14 rebounds in a win over Gonzaga, 18 points and 16 boards in a win at West Virginia and 17 points and 15 rebounds in a victory at Baylor. Griffin also registered 19 points and nine boards against No. 12 Texas.
Despite not scoring and grabbing just one rebound in his five minutes against Kansas, Griffin ranks 10th in the Big 12 in scoring (14.5 ppg), fourth in rebounding (8.7 rpg) and third in double-doubles (seven). He also leads the league in field goal percentage (.584) and paces OU with his 24 steals.
Griffin has twice been named the Phillips 66 Big 12 Player of the Week (Dec. 31 and Jan. 28) and was also named the Jan. 14 Big 12 Rookie of the Week.
Seeing a major increase in minutes the last few weeks, junior forward Taylor Griffin is averaging 10.8 points and 8.3 rebounds while shooting .821 (23-for-28) from the free throw line over the last six contests. Prior to those six outings, he was averaging 5.4 points and 3.2 boards while shooting .667 (20-for-30) from the foul line on the year.

On Jan. 28 against Oklahoma State, he was 7-for-8 from the field and scored a career-high 20 points and pulled down a game-high six boards. Wednesday against Texas, he netted 12 points and grabbed a career-high 15 boards as he started in place of an injured Longar.

Godbold is shooting .413 from 3-point range over the last eight contests (19-for-46). No other Sooner has made more than 11 treys over the last eight games.
In seven Big 12 games, Godbold is averaging 11.4 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.7 assists. He ranks third in the Big 12 (conference games only) with his .386 3-point percentage and his 2.4 treys per contest.

He has already made four more 3-pointers this year than he did all of last season (35) when he shot a team-high .357 from behind the arc.
Crocker is averaging 6.7 points over the last three games on 6-for-20 field goal shooting after scoring in double figures in the team's previous five contests. He is averaging 3.4 turnovers over the last five outings.
Crocker, who scored a career-high 26 points at TCU on Dec. 2 (he netted 20 points in the first half with the help of 6-for-7 3-point shooting), ranks third on the team in scoring (10.9 ppg) and fourth in rebounding (4.2 rpg).
Junior guard Austin Johnson averaged 12.1 points over an eight-game stretch from late November to early January, but is averaging 5.8 points over the last eight contests. He was held scoreless in 38 minutes against Texas on Wednesday.

PREVIEWING COLORADO
Colorado enters Saturday's game with a 9-13 overall record and a 1-7 Big 12 mark (trails 11th-place Oklahoma State by a game). The Buffaloes are 4-7 at home this season and 1-3 in league home games (beat Nebraska 55-51, lost to Kansas State 72-56, lost to Missouri 66-63 and lost to Kansas 72-59). They are coming off a 64-63 road loss to Oklahoma State on Wednesday.
The Buffaloes hit 8-of-19 (.421) 3-point attempts at Oklahoma State but were outrebounded 37-26 and watched the Cowboys make 25 free throws to their 17. It was CU's sixth consecutive defeat and eighth in its last nine games.
Colorado ranks fourth in the Big 12 in scoring defense (62.7 points per game) but last in rebounding margin (-2.5 per game), last in field goal percentage defense (.438) and 10th in 3-point field goal percentage defense (.362).
Senior guard Richard Roby is one of three Buffaloes averaging double figures in scoring. He ranks fourth in the conference with his 17.0 points per game and is also averaging a team-high 6.5 rebounds while shooting .498 from the field, .420 from behind the arc and .792 from the free throw line. Roby is attempting to lead Colorado in scoring for the fourth straight year. He is just 47 points away from becoming the school's third leading scorer of all time (Shaun Vandiver currently ranks third).
Fellow senior guard Marcus Hall is averaging 12.6 points, 4.0 rebounds and team highs of 3.8 assists and 1.9 steals per outing. Hall has made a team-high 37 treys and is shooting .385 from deep. Sophomore guard Xavier Silas is averaging 10.1 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.7 assists per contest and has started 19 of his 20 games (he scored eight points off the bench against Oklahoma State).

Bzdelik also coached Air Force to a 50-16 record during the 2006 and 2007 seasons, and Maryland-Baltimore County to a 25-31 mark over the 1987 and 1988 campaigns. He also spent the 2003, 2004 and part of the 2005 season as the head coach of the NBA's Denver Nuggets, leading them to a 73-119 record.
SERIES WITH THE BUFFALOES
Oklahoma owns an 85-47 all-time record against Colorado and is 30-26 versus the Buffaloes in games played in Boulder.
The Sooners have won 43 of the last 48 overall meetings, but the teams have split the last four. Colorado's five wins during the span have all been by single digits (an average of 6.0 points)
Oklahoma won 24 consecutive meetings between the 1982 and 1991 seasons.
OU is 10-3 against Colorado since the inception of the Big 12 Conference (that includes a 2-0 record in the league tournament).
The Sooners have won 22 straight games against the Buffaloes in Norman.
LAST YEAR AGAINST COLORADO
In the only meeting between the teams last year, Oklahoma forced 25 Colorado turnovers in a 78-54 home win on Jan. 10. The victory snapped a two-game losing streak and marked Jeff Capel's first triumph in Big 12 play. The Sooners rode the strong play of freshman Tony Crocker, who finished with 16 points, eight rebounds, two assists and two steals. Crocker made 13 free throws on 15 attempts, both still career-high figures. Senior Nate Carter came off the bench to supply 15 points and eight boards while sophomore guard Austin Johnson registered 10 points and four assists. OU shot .442 from the field, .368 (7-for-19) from 3-point range and .735 (25-for-34) from the free throw line while the Buffaloes posted .408, .222 (4-for-18) and .556 (10-for-18) respective figures. The Sooners recorded a season-high 14 steals and held a 33-10 advantage in the points-off-turnovers category. With 20 points, Richard Roby was the only Buffalo who scored in double figures. He also had seven of CU's 25 turnovers.
GETTING TO THE LINE
Freshman forward Blake Griffin has seemed to develop quite a knack for getting to the foul line over his last seven outings. Through OU's first 13 games, Griffin attempted 50 free throws (3.8 per contest) with a single-game high of six. Over the last seven games, however, Griffin has attempted 75 free throws (10.7 per contest). He attempted 12 foul shots versus Rice, 18 against Mount St. Mary's, 13 versus Kansas State, four at Baylor, 15 against Oklahoma State, five at Texas A&M and eight versus Texas.
ROAD SCHOLAR
Junior Austin Johnson performed considerably better in home games than road contests during his first two years as a Sooner. That trend has reversed itself this season. In OU's six road games this year, Johnson is averaging 10.3 points, 3.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists while shooting .523 from the field and .538 from 3-point range (14-for-26). In 13 home games, the combo guard is averaging 7.0 points, 2.5 boards and 2.3 assists while shooting .326 from the floor and .208 from long range (10-for-48). Johnson has made more than one trey at home just twice season (two against Arkansas and Oklahoma State), but has made at least two in five of the team's six road contests.
