OU's all-time winningest coach with a 333-132 (.716) career record... guided the Sooners to four Big Eight titles and three Big Eight Tournament crowns in 14 seasons... coached four All-Americans at Oklahoma.

NORMAN, Okla. -- They suffocated opposing teams with their full-court pressure defense and quickly translated turnovers into points with their speed and athleticism on offense.
 
Led by All-Americans Stacey King and Harvey Grant and Big Eight Newcomer of the Year Mookie Blaylock, the 1987-88 OU men's basketball team accumulated 486 steals and put up 102.9 points per game en route to a 35-4 overall record.
 
With a starting five that all averaged double figures in points, Oklahoma stormed through the regular season, capturing the Big Eight regular season and tournament crowns on its way to earning a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
 
Legendary head coach Billy Tubbs guided the Sooners all the way to the Final Four where it took a miracle, "Danny and the Miracles" to be exact, to bring down OU. Danny Manning and the Kansas Jayhawks upset King & Co., 83-79, in the national championship game.
  
Despite missing out on a national title, Coach Tubbs' bunch set numerous school records that still stand today, including wins (35), points per game (102.9), rebounds (1,658), field goals (1,533), three-point field goals (299), assists (862) and steals (486).
 
OU posted 26 double-digit victories on the season, 12 of which came by at least 30 points, including five 50-point blowouts. Oklahoma eclipsed triple digits on 20 occasions, including three 150-point outbursts.
 
The numbers speak for themselves. The Sooners truly were one of the most dominant and most exciting spectacles in the land, and they etched their place in college basketball history.
 
Last summer, Rivals.com compiled a list of the top 10 teams since the NCAA Tournament field expanded to 64 in 1985. One of only two teams on the list that didn't win a national championship, Oklahoma came in at No. 10.
 
Twenty years after their dream season, the 1988 Final Four team will reunite this weekend at the Lloyd Noble Center and will be recognized during halftime of Saturday's game against Texas A&M.
 
They were arguably the greatest team in Oklahoma men's basketball history. Following is a look back at their accomplishments.

Going Back in Time
Even the most casual Oklahoma basketball fan who is old enough remembers the 1988 national championship game against Kansas.
