· Blake Griffin recorded his second straight double-double with 20 points and a career-high 19 rebounds in 31 minutes of action. Griffin was 8-of-9 (.889) from the field and is shooting .850 (17-of-20) on the season.
· Griffin's 19 boards marked the highest total for a Sooner since Aaron McGhee also notched 19 rebounds against St. Bonaventure on Dec. 5, 2001 (a span of 226 games). In OU's two regular season contests this year, Griffin is averaging 18.5 rebounds.
· Griffin's career-high six steals doubled his previous best of three (which he recorded twice last season).
· Willie Warren notched a career-high 14 points on 6-of-12 (.500) shooting. Warren was perfect from the field in the second half (3-for-3).
· Fellow freshman Ray Willis scored 14 points (all in the second half) in just 15 minutes of action. Willis, who did not score Friday versus American, also added two steals after not playing in the first half.
· OU's 59 second-half points marked its highest scoring output in any half under third-year head coach Jeff Capel. The Sooners previous best under Capel was 54 (first half versus Norfolk State on Nov. 10, 2006).
· Oklahoma recorded 18 steals in tonight's contest, its second straight game with at least 13 steals. It marked the highest total under Capel.
· OU recorded 35 points off of 25 MVSU turnovers while the Sooner reserves doubled up the Delta Devils' bench, 42-21.
· The Sooners shot .600 (21-of-35) from the field in the second half and 34-of-65 (.523) for the game. OU was 4-of-7 (.571) from 3-point distance in the second stanza after hitting just 2-of-12 (.167) attempts from long range in the first half.
· The Sooners improved to 2-0 all-time against the Delta Devils. In its only previous meeting, OU defeated MVSU 117-95 on Dec. 30, 1991.
· With the win, OU (seeded second in the 16-team Dick's Sporting Goods NIT Season Tip-Off) advances to face No. 5 seed Davidson Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. on ESPN2. Davidson, ranked No. 21 nationally, defeated James Madison 99-64 in tonight's opening contest behind 33 points from AP preseason first-team All-American Stephen Curry.
