STILLWATER, Okla. -- The University of Oklahoma's women's cross country team finished 10th out of 29 teams Saturday morning at the Cowboy Jamboree in Stillwater, Okla., as sophomore Kelly Waters took eighth to lead the squad.
Waters completed the 6,000-meter course in a time of 21 minutes and 28 seconds. On the season, Waters has yet to finish outside the top 10.
Two other Sooner women finished with great times as sophomore Jessica Engel finished the course in a time of 22:13. Engel was one of the top-30 women runners as she came in at 28th. Junior Lauren Watson finished with a time of 22:37.
Rounding out the women's scoring were sophomore Lindsay Pierson (23:39) and senior Amanda Mayfield (24:25).
The OU men's program had four runners competing in the event. Sophomore Cole Crosby led the Sooners with a time of 26:56 on the men's 8,000-meter course.
Northern Arizona claimed the women's title with 61 points as Oklahoma State won the men's side with 38 points.
