NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma women's volleyball travels to Ames, Iowa this weekend to face the Iowa State Cyclones in a 6:30 p.m. CT match from Hilton Coliseum. The Sooners (7-7, 3-3 Big 12) are seeking to get back in the win column, while the Cyclones (9-7, 1-4 Big 12) are looking to snap a four-game losing skid.
Oklahoma leads the all-time series with ISU, 39-21. While the series is tied at 12-all in games played in Ames, the Sooners have won six out of the last 10 meetings there.
Freshman Brianne Barker recorded her team-leading eighth double-double on Wednesday evening against third-ranked Texas. She tallied 33 assists and 11 digs for her fourth straight double total match. She now has double-digit digs in four out of the last five matches. Barker has also tallied double-digit digs eight times this season.
Although she had her double-double streak snapped Wednesday evening, junior Bridget Laplante continues to contribute both offensively and defensively. Freshman Caitlin Higgins has netted double-digit digs in the last five contests. Three of those five matches have resulted in double-doubles for the Amarillo, Texas native. Senior Lacy Barnes continues to lead OU defensively. The libero has 12 double-digit dig matches this season. Her current streak for the mark is seven matches. Offensively, redshirt sophomore Francie Ekwerekwu has posted double-digit kills in all but one match this season. Her current streak is nine matches.
