NORMAN, Okla. – The University of Oklahoma volleyball team used its open date to prepare for Saturday's match with second-ranked Nebraska away from campus. The Sooners went to the United States Postal Service National Center for Employee Development. The open practice allowed employees and visitors to take in the team's two-hour workout.
“It's a nice change of pace for us,” said OU head coach Santiago Restrepo. “It was very important for us to get out to a different site with the bye week and to come out and promote our sport within the community.”
The training facility is located in southeast Norman and, according to the facility's Web site, is a self-contained, living-and-learning center, offering training and conference services to agencies and business groups from across the nation. Although the Postal Service is still NCED's biggest customer, the center also welcomes other businesses and groups.
