Head Coach Bob Stoops

Opening Statement:
"It's always pleasing when you are effective doing both running and throwing. I thought our guys played well, we had all those snaps and no turnovers. No turnovers is a big deal. Sam Bradford is sensational, Juaquin Iglesias had a huge game and both backs really ran the ball well. It was really solid. Defensively, there were parts when we really gelled in the second half. They executed well and they are a good team. These guys have put a ton of points and yards on everybody, they do an excellent job. Mark and his staff are doing a good job with KU. It was a good win."

On the changes at linebacker:
"As far as today went, I was pleased. Quinton Carter had a nice game and did well. Nic Harris handled the change really well and will only get better. It's a lot, I thought he really handled it well. It takes a lot of guts on his part for him to step up in there and be willing to do it. He handled it really well for the most part. There are some things that we should get better after today, hopefully we can be even more fluid next week."

On the running game:
"When you rush for 217, that is what you want. As always, when they have to deal with it you get certain coverages and you can hopefully take advantage throwing. That is what we have continued to do throughout the year, even when we have struggled to run it."

On the offensive line:
"They were the first ones in the locker room to get a game ball to be able to be balanced and protect the quarterback and the run. They were really good and solid."

On Sam Bradford:
"It's not surprising anymore, if you give him the time. He throws so many great balls. It's a rarity when you see one that isn't perfect. I thought everyone else around him really executed well and he delivered like he always does."

On the wide receivers:
"All of those guys stepped up. When you're getting 97 plays you better have some guys who you can throw in there and count on. Quentin Chaney stepped up big, Ryan Broyles always does, and Adron Tennell stepped up. We just need to use them all. It's not our style to concentrate on one guy. We feel our best asset is using all of them and making them defend all of them. Sam does a great job with his reads and getting the ball to the guy who is most open."

On future goals on offense:
"We always want more. I would have liked to have three more snaps and get 100 and kept moving. I would like to have a couple of plays back, I guess that's a little greedy. Sam had an incredible day and Juaquin had one of the best days ever here. Those guys played great but we always want more. I don't think us coaches are ever satisfied."

Defensive Coordinator Brent Venables

On Nic Harris' play at linebacker:
“Between his experience and athleticism, it was our best matchup. They (Kansas) were not ever able to pick on him. (Kerry) Meier finished with very little, in regards to catching the football and where he typically gets a lot of his receptions from is a 3-by-1 set, kind of like what we saw from Texas a week ago. He works in space and leverage off of a linebacker most of the time. We had Nic (Harris) to try to take that away and also to get a guy down in the box to complement Travis (Lewis). A guy with experience and that could help us from a mental side as well as the physical side.”

On not revealing Nic Harris role as a linebacker earlier in the week:
“The only reason was because we wanted KU to think there would be some opportunities there (in the middle). But it wasn't until Thursday that we said this is going to work. We still worked our ones and twos. A lot of it too was dependent upon Quentin Carter and how his development looked during the course of the week and his consistency. He was money, I think he led our team in tackles and was really in good position tonight and he was really locked in all week.”

On future use of Harris as a linebacker:
“More than anything it will dependent upon what it is that we are seeing. Obviously, if we are going to see some different things. Kansas State will get in two-back and they are going to get into four wid outs. We will see this from A&M and Oklahoma State. I think it is about matching up personal. That is where Austin Box could get involved.”

Offensive Coordinator Kevin Wilson

On the running backs:
“You stick with it. The same guy [Demarco Murray] who wasn't full speed looked like himself tonight. It's just confidence and playing it. We blocked a little better but those guys ran with a purpose tonight and it was good to see and that wasn't personal against them, that's playing, that's learning we can always be better. We weren't so good last week at some things, we tried to correct them and talk about it. We had a good week of practice and it was better today.”

On no sacks or turnovers:
“That's the line, the backs, the tight ends -- we all do it together. Sam (Bradford) is getting rid of it. He scrambled around and sometimes throws away. He's got a feel for that. There are a lot of good players on the field. There was a lot of frustration this week in practice about coming out and playing like were capable. I think after this game everyone is feeling we did okay, but we can be better and try to build on this.”

On the offense:
“We are throwing the ball a lot. (Bradford) is phenomenal. Our protection has been good. Our run game has got to have an attitude. It had more of an attitude with it today. When we have the attitude and run it and get both sides going, we can be a really good offense.”

Junior RB Chris Brown

On the offense's play today:
“The O-Line was getting pushed. They were getting up the field and making big, gaping holes. Whenever they didn't make them, we still tried to do what we could.”

On this week's practices:
“It was more physical than it has been these past couple weeks. That's what we wanted to do, just be physical.

On carrying his weight:
“It was on both (running backs and offensive line) our shoulders. We just had to come out and try to make a statement. We're not slacking on our part, which is running the ball, and their part, which is making holes and pass protection.”

On getting ready for Kansas after a loss to Texas:
“Coming off a big loss to Texas everybody was down after the game, but we had to pick it up when we came in Monday and get ready mentally for the challenge of Kansas because we knew it could happen again. They're a great team.”

On the offense:
“The guys up front did a great job. Coach Wilson was great with the play calling. Everything just fell right in place where it should be. It was very balanced all across the board: running, passing the ball, guys were making blocks all the way down the field. It was good.”

Senior Center Jon Cooper

On the offensive line's play today:
“We felt like we did a pretty good job, but we can always be better. We had 90-something snaps as the first unit. We felt that was great because we always want to get as many plays as possible to feel like we have the best chance.”

On teammate Sam Bradford:
“He doesn't surprise me at all anymore. I think he could throw it from the one-yard line to the other end-zone and it wouldn't surprise me. Everything he does used to make me say wow, now it's just like, 'Well, that's just Sam.' He's just amazing every game.”

On the running game:
“We did get the running game going. That was a big focus from the coaches that we wanted to get the running game going. We came up to the challenge and it was great that the coaches gave us that opportunity.”

Sophomore DB Quinton Carter

On when he found out he would start against Kansas:
“I found out Monday that I was going to be starting. I was more nervous Monday when I first found out than I was as the week went along and I got more reps and watched more film. Practice was actually kind of harder than the game because we turned up the intensity.”

On how it felt playing against Kansas:
“I was just having fun helping out the team. I got my opportunity and I tried to make the best of it. I knew if I played well that they would keep me there for more games.”

Senior DB Nic Harris

On playing linebacker:
“Throughout the course of the game I got more comfortable. At the end of the game, football is the same from middle school to college it's the same.”

On how he felt about playing MLB:
“I knew that at the end of the day I was going to have to do it if I liked it or not. I just tried to make the best of the situation and tried to make plays. At the end of the day just come out with a 'W'.”

On his play today:
“I was a little inconsistent in the first half. In the second half, I honed into what I needed to do and came out. I got more comfortable through the course of the game.”

Opening Statement:
"We lost. They were a good football team, really talented and they deserve to win. This is a very good Oklahoma football team."

On Oklahoma's offense:
"OU is really talented on offense. I am really impressed with Sam Bradford because he is everything they said he would be and more. He has pinpoint accuracy and poise. He scrambled on a couple of big plays. Juaquin Iglesias is a tough guy to deal with and Quinten Chaney and Jermaine Gresham are as well. They just have a lot of depth on offense. They do a good job of shuttling guys on and off the field and we just couldn't keep up with it."

On rebounding after a win:
"We have rebounded from losses time after time and 22 teams in a row have lost in Norman. I think we are in good company. Don't you think?"

On junior quarterback Todd Reesing:
"He played outstanding. He made a lot of plays and threw the ball well. He utilized his receivers very well in the passing game. I thought that he played very well and he proved that he should be in the company of all the fine quarterback in the conference and in the country as well."

On sophomore wide receiver Dezmon Briscoe:
"He made some plays and went up and caught the ball. He did what you would like to see your receivers do. I thought that he made some really nice catches in coverage. I thought that (Dezmon) Briscoe played very well and made some plays that you really like to see your receivers make in coverage."

Junior QB Todd Reesing

On today's game:
"Well, they scored a lot of points and put up a lot of yards. We fought our hardest to keep up with them, which we did for a while, but in the end they had more firepower than we did and scored more points than we did. Today, they were the better team."

On what he expected before the game:
"We came in expecting to have to score a lot of points to have a chance to win. We had some mistakes and penalties that slowed drives, and cost us in the long run. We were not very good on third down like we have been all year, and the turnover in the redzone didn't help. They played almost flawless ball, and we had some msitakes. In the end, that's what it comes down to. They just didn't make the mistakes."

On the atmosphere in Norman:
"It's a great atmosphere. It's a great place to play, and they have a great environment. It was fun."

Junior Safety Darrell Stuckey

On the disappointment of the outcome:
"A loss is always disappointing, regardless of how it happens. We just have to be optimistic about it and realize that tomorrow when we go into film, we are going to be able to learn from today. You learn more from a loss than you do from a win."

On where the team is after the loss:
"I think we need to go out there, be more consistent and maintain the mental edge. We need to continue to fight, and not allow them to get opportunities to succeed. There were some plays where we were not in our coverage like we should have been. After coming in here and fighting against a good team, I think we will be able to come out next weeek and play a lot better."

On what he expected from OU coming in:
"It was a lot like we expected. Their offense plays really hard and well. They play with a lot of heart and, if we want to play against them, we have to go out there and play the same way as a defense."

Junior RB Jake Sharp

On playing Oklahoma in Norman:
"I think every road game in the Big 12 is really tough. We just didn't come out and do the things we needed to do to win. We played a great ball club, and made some plays, but we didn't make enough to come out on top."

On the feeling in the locker room:
"Disappointment for sure. I think everyone gave everything they had, and we just made too many mistakes. There is room to build, as there always is. It's college football, so one team wins and one team loses. I think we are just happy to come down here and play as hard as we did for our teammates."

Sophomore WR Dezmon Briscoe

On the offense production:
"Five hundred yards for any offense is always good. We were pretty even between the pass and the run, but Oklahoma made more palys than we did. Next week we have to come out and make more plays, and go from there."

On his day:
"It always feels good that the coach is comfortable with you enough to allow you to make plays. I was excited when they called my number."
