Senior Punter Mike Knall |
On the importance of his job:
"Going from the 50 and in it's so important to put the ball inside the 10-yard line. Kicking is more offense but punting is more helping out the defense. That's my job every week is to give the defense a big field to work with."
On the mental aspect of punting:
"If you visualize something, it's crazy how much it comes true. Friday nights in the hotel, I'll sit in my bed and visualize where I'm at on all parts of the field. It's crazy how much the mental aspects come into play."

Junior DE Jeremy Beal |
On how the defense has the same flexibility as the offense:
"It is similar to how the offense uses Jermaine. He can stand out and be a wide receiver and come back and be a tight end. I guess I'm kind of the equivalent on defense. I can go down and be a defensive end and then stand up as a linebacker the next play."
On the defense's confidence heading into Big 12 play:
"We're real confident but we have to come out and play to the best of our abilities each Saturday. If we do that I think we'll be good."
 |
Senior DB Lendy Holmes |
On OU's kickoff coverage:
"We're still trying to get there. We need to continue studying who's blocking who and just get in our lanes. But overall, I think we'll get there."
On Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin:
"I feel like he's a lot like the guy we faced at Washington. He's very fast and very mobile. Once again, we just have to be prepared."
 |
Junior OL Brian Simmons |
On the mentality of the team this season:
"This is my third year playing, and of all the teams I've been on, this team seems to have more of a sense of urgency. We've worked hard and we've been through a lot, and we know we're talented enough to do it. There are a lot of guys stepping up and being leaders. I feel like this will be a great year for us if we just keep our composure and continue to do the things we're going."
On who sticks out in his mind as one of the team's leaders:
"On the offensive line, I look up to Branndon Braxton a lot. We came in playing in together and he just really steps up and tries to be a voice on and off the field."
 |
Junior WR Adron Tennell |
On his performance Saturday against TCU:
"I feel like I did pretty well. I could've done better on my blocking, but coach told me I was going to get a chance to play that game, and I'm just going out there and trying to make the best of it."
On making the most of his opportunities:
"We have a lot of weapons on the field. When it's your place and your time, you have to go out there and shine. Every time I get in I'm just trying to go 100 percent. If somebody goes down I have to be ready to play."
