Jan. 7, 2008

• Tonight's victory marked OU's fifth straight win, its longest streak under second-year coach Jeff Capel.  OU has not won six straight games since the 2004-05 season.

• The Sooners recorded their 12th non-conference victory on the year, tied for the most since the 1994-95 season (13).

• OU limited the Mountaineers to opponent season lows in both free throw attempts (seven) and free throw makes (three).

• Oklahoma was outrebounded for the second consecutive game (33-32), marking the first time this season that back-to-back opponents have recorded more boards than the Sooners. OU is 3-2 in games when being outboarded.

• OU was 25-of-47 (.532) from the field and is now shooting .479 (394-of-822) from the field on the season.  The last Sooner squad to shoot a higher percentage for an entire season was the 1988-89 squad (.491).

• Oklahoma surpassed the 70-point mark for the 10th time this season (nine times all of last year). OU entered the contest averaging 74.1 points per game on the season.

• The Sooners were 6-of-12 (.500) from 3-point range marking the fifth time this season they have shot 50 percent or better from behind the arc.

• Oklahoma's 39 free throw attempts were its most since attempting 45 against Arkansas Pine-Bluff on Dec. 2, 2003.

• OU has forced 41 turnovers in the last two contests (19 tonight).

• Freshman Blake Griffin scored a career-high 26 points on 7-of-10 shooting (.700). The 6-10 forward has scored in double digits in eight straight games, averaging 15.8 ppg during the streak.

• Griffin's 26 points and seven rebounds led the Sooners in both categories. For Griffin, it was the sixth and 10th time, respectively, to lead Oklahoma in the categories.

• Griffin scored nine more points from the charity stripe than the Mount St. Mary's team.  Griffin was 12-of-18 (.667) from the line while Mount St. Mary's was 3-of-7.

• Griffin's 12 makes and 18 attempts from the stripe marked career highs - his 12 makes tied his previous season high in free throw attempts.

• Griffin has gotten to the line 30 times in the last two contests - three more than the previous eight games combined.

• Tony Neysmith recorded his most playing time since Nov. 9 and recorded his first made field goal on the year. The Norcross, Ga., native played 14 minutes and had two points, two steals, one assist and a rebound.

• Tony Crocker finished with 10 points (all in the second half) on 3-of-6 shooting.

• Oklahoma improved its series record against Mount St. Mary's to 3-0.  All three victories have come inside the state of Oklahoma, with two wins at Lloyd Noble Center.
