NORMAN, Okla. -- The University of Oklahoma baseball team is set to begin team practices on Oct. 4, with the first intrasquad scrimmage set for Oct. 7. The scrimmage is free and open to the public at L. Dale Mitchell Park with a time to be announced at a later date.
In preparation for the 2008 season, SoonerSports.com will feature one of the Sooners' newcomers each week throughout the remainder of the year.
Each spotlight will include an updated bio, Q&A session and a series of videos featuring a scouting report from OU head coach Sunny Golloway.
The fourth installment focuses on freshman outfielder Chad Colbert. The freshman hails from Allen, Okla., where he attended Allen High School and was the recipient of the 2006 Jim Thorpe Award, awarded to the state's top player in any class.
