NORMAN, Okla. - The Oklahoma volleyball squad will host its annual Crimson and Cream scrimmage this Saturday, Aug. 18 at 10:30 a.m. inside the Howard McCasland Field House. The two-hour intrasquad scrimmage is free admission and open to the public.
Following the match, the Sooners will host a picnic for the fans and offer tours of the Howard McCasland Field House and locker rooms. Pizza and drinks will be available as long as supplies last.
Saturday's event will provide Sooner fans the first opportunity to watch the 2007 squad under the direction of fourth-year head coach Santiago Restrepo. The Sooners enter the season with momentum after a record-setting year in 2006 that saw OU finish at No. 12 in the country following its trip to the Sweet 16.
Oklahoma will open the season in its inaugural Sooner Legends Nike Invitational at the Field House Aug. 24-25. The Sooners will begin the four-team tournament on Friday, Aug. 24 with a match against Denver at 7 p.m.
