NORMAN, Okla. - The Oklahoma volleyball team will close out its spring season this Saturday at the Howard McCasland Field House as it hosts a four-team tournament. Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri State and North Texas will make up the tournament that will include six different volleyball matches throughout the course of the day.
Saturday will be a great opportunity for Sooner fans to catch a glimpse of next year's squad. All fans will be admitted free of charge to the event.
Oklahoma will open the tourney with a match against North Texas at 10 a.m. The Sooners will follow that with a 12 p.m. contest against Missouri State and a 2 p.m. meeting against Arkansas in the tournament finale.
All of the contests, excluding the final match, will play all games to only 15 points and use a best-of-five format. However, OU's match against Arkansas will resemble regular play with each game going to 30 points.
The Sooner volleyball team is coming off its best season in school history after finishing 2006 ranked No. 12 in the country and advancing to the Sweet 16. Additionally, the Sooners enter the weekend with momentum after claiming the tournament title of last weekend's prestigious spring tournament in Houston, Texas.
