NORMAN, Okla. - The No. 23 Oklahoma volleyball team had three players named to ESPN The Magazine's Academic All-District VI teams on Thursday as announced by CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America).

Hannah Sharp and Lacy Barnes represented Oklahoma on the second team while Laplante was named to the third team.Sharp collected her second straight Academic All-District honor after being named to the third team in 2006. It marks the first career honor for Barnes, a junior, and Laplante, a sophomore.

Oklahoma tied Texas with the most honorees by a school in District VI.

Sharp, OU's libero, is leading the team in digs this season with 4.07 per game. The Fishers, N.Y. native is also leading the team with 0.28 service aces.

Barnes has been the first sub off the bench this season and has played in 98 of OU's 99 games while also competing in every single match. The defensive specialist adds a spark on the back row with her 1.73 digs per game.

While only a sophomore, Laplante has been a two-year starter for the Sooner squad on offense as she is tallying 3.21 kills per games. The Tomball, Texas, native has also recorded 14 double-doubles this season.
