In his first official collegiate contest, freshman Blake Griffin scored a team-high 18 points on 7-of-9 (.777) shooting. The Oklahoma City product added 13 boards for his first collegiate double-double, a feat he accomplished by halftime after scoring 12 points and grabbing 10 boards in the opening stanza.

Taylor Griffin's 12 first-half points were the most points scored in a half by the 6-7 junior in his career. Griffin went 4-of-7 from the field in the opening stanza and also added four boards, a block and an assist. The elder Griffin ended the night with 13 points, three off his career best and the most since netting 15 at Texas on Jan. 13, 2006.

The Griffin brothers combined for 24 first-half points on 9-of-13 shooting. The duo also grabbed 14 rebounds in the opening 20 minutes.

With the game knotted at 27 apiece (after OU trailed 25-20 at the 9:53 mark), Oklahoma went on a 13-0 run from the 7:44 to 3:27 marks in the first half, for its largest lead of the opening stanza.

San Francisco forward Dior Lowhorn netted a career-high 26 points on 11-of-22 shooting (.500). The 6-7 sophomore transfer from Texas Tech also added a team-high seven rebounds.

Oklahoma has won 21 of its last 22 season openers and 28 of its last 29 home openers.

With the victory, the Sooners advance to play Denver Friday night in the Norman regional championship game of the 2K2 Sports College Hoops Classic. Denver beat East Central (Okla.) 76-75 in overtime in tonight's first contest.

Tony Crocker and Cade Davis scored all of their points in second-half action. Crocker ended the night with 10 points on 5-of-7 shooting while Davis chipped in with six.

Austin Johnson dished out a game-high seven assists without a turnover. The Amarillo, Texas, junior also scored seven points.

Nine different Sooners scored a bucket on the night as the Oklahoma bench outscored the Dons' reserves 17-eight. Crocker's 10 points topped all OU reserves.

A stifling Oklahoma defense allowed San Francisco only two points in almost six minutes during a second-half stretch from the 7:35 to 1:52 marks.
