• Senior center Longar Longar made his first start of the year and finished with 16 points, a game-high nine rebounds and three blocked shots.  Over the last three contests, Longar is averaging 16.3 points and 8.3 boards.

• Oklahoma held Gardner-Webb to .267 field goal shooting, the lowest figure by an OU opponent since Norfolk State shot .246 in last year's season opener (a span of 35 games).

• Freshman forward Blake Griffin scored a team-high 17 points and pulled down eight boards.  On the season, Griffin is averaging 14.8 points and 8.6 rebounds.

• Gardner-Webb was just 5-for-31 (.161) from two-point range on the night.  The Bulldogs stayed in the game by canning 14 3-pointers on 37 attempts (.378).

• Trailing 22-20 on the boards at halftime, OU finished the game with a 44-39 advantage.

• Coming off the bench for the first time this season, Tony Crocker registered his fourth double-digit scoring performance in five games with 11 points.  Crocker's double-digit effort off the bench was OU's fourth in five games.

• OU's .778 free throw performance tied a season best.  The Sooners were 21-for-27 while Gardner-Webb was just 3-for-4.

• Friday's game marked the first ever meeting between OU and Gardner-Webb.
