NORMAN, Okla. -- The Sooner soccer team's debut at the newly renovated John Crain Field was unsuccessful as it fell 2-0 to visiting Michigan on Friday.

“Its obviously disappointing to lose, but I thought we did some good things out there tonight to improve upon,” said head coach Randy Evans. “For the third consecutive game, we produced a lot of opportunities but came up empty handed. We need to finish on those chances and score more goals.”
Michigan outshot Oklahoma 15-8 in the contest, including a 7-2 advantage in the second half. OU's Tenesha Duncan led all Sooners with two shots.
Junior goalkeeper Jennifer Nichols fell to 0-3 after making four saves in the contest.
Friday's game was the first meeting between the two teams and the first contest to be played at John Crain Field since it underwent a $4.5 million dollar expansion in the offseason.
The Sooners return to action on Sunday to continue the six-game home stand with Michigan State (1-2) in Norman at 1 p.m. The Spartans lost to Oklahoma State on Friday, 2-0, in Stillwater.
