Freshman OL Chase Beeler

Freshman OL Chase Beeler

August 16, 2006 | Football

NORMAN, Okla. -- Offensive lineman Chase Beeler finds himself the center of attention.

The true freshman is making the majority of snaps behind starter Jon Cooper in preseason practices for the Sooners.

Beeler signed with OU in the spring after a standout career as an offensive guard for the Jenk Trojans. He was an all-state selection by the Tulsa World and the Oklahoman.

But once in Noman, Beeler moved to center to direct blocking assignments for the rest of the line. The 6-3, 276-pounder carried a perfect 4.0 GPA in high school and OU coaches are eager to see his intellect in action.
