Garrison, a mathematics/pre-med major, has a 3.90 grade point average. Garrison won the 2006 Big 12 #2 doubles title. He tied the school record for most consecutive wins and was a two-time Sooner team captain. He also was named to the 2005 All-Big 12 doubles team.
He is a three-time ITA Scholar Athlete award winner. He earned the 2005 and 2006 ITA Central Region Arthur Ashe Award for leadership and sportsmanship.
Garrison received the 2006 Big 12 Conference Medal, given to a senior student-athlete who excels in athletics and academics, and recently received the Big 12 Prentice Gautt Postgraduate Scholarship.
He is a three-time Big 12 All-Academic first team honoree. He has been named to the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll and Sooner Scholar list eight times. He is a finalist for an NCAA postgraduate scholarship and was OU's nominee for 2006 Big 12 Sportsmanship Award.
This marks the first time for Garrison to earn All-District and All-America honors from CoSIDA. Nominated by members of CoSIDA, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore in academic and athletic eligibility, be a starter or key reserve and have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average to be considered for the team.
True freshmen, redshirt freshmen and transfer students who are in their first year at the institution are not eligible for the team. Schools were limited to three nominations each for the men's and women's teams.
The women's at-large All-America team is scheduled to be released on Thursday and the Sooners have two student-athletes, sophomore Gabby Baker and junior Brittney Koncack-Schumann, who made the first team All-District list and were eligible for national consideration.
