NORMAN | The 2006 Oklahoma Sooners earned the program's 40th conference championship on Saturday night in Kansas City. OU's offense struck early for a 14-0 lead on Nebraska and the defense dug in to hold the prolific Husker offense to just seven points at the half.
 
Pinned on the one-half yard line late in the third quarter, senior quarterback Paul Thompson engineered an epic 99-yard touchdown drive to seal the game for Oklahoma, 21-7.
 
Sooners fans who braved the frigid night at Arrowhead Stadium shared the experience with Coach Stoops and the team. For those who couldn't make it but were there in spirit, SoonerSports.com brings you the sights and sounds of the 2006 Big 12 Championship.
